Default Atheists, what are your views on Gnosticism?

I'm interested to know what you think of it, in general

As long as it stays out of my public schools and government, I don't give a crap what others believe.

To proclaim you know absolute knowledge is irrational and can't forget ignorant. Gnosticism= dogmatic.

It's a belief based on just as much actual evidence as any other religion.

I studied a bit of gnosticism before coming to the conclusion that there is no gods. The gnostic gospels are pretty interesting. It is an interesting path, but still doesn't add up.

It's just one more belief system. One more way of trying to make sense of the world, and answering the question, "What happens after we die?"

Do you mean the early variant of Christianity that went by that name, which was declared heresy and snuffed out by the "orthodox" bishops (with the help of Constantine's army)?

No more sensible than any other variant of Christianity, and just as lacking in evidence for its main premise (that there is a god).

Peace.
