I must say three questions in 4000 character limit......nice
Dashavtar is a very technical term in Sanskrit language to denote" the descent upon earth of a portion of the essence of a god ten times", which then assumes some coarser material form.
Here is a link to know a brief about all the incarnations
http://www.iloveindia.com/spirituality/gods/vishnu/vishnu-avatar.html
there is no difference between worship of Vishnu and His avatars as it all leads to supreme soul
and the purport of each Avataar must be followed.
Unfortunately the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu "Gautam Buddha" is the one which is not followed by neither Hindus nor Buddhists.
Yes we do worship but does mere chanting of mantras was the aim of Vedic Dharma.
Please go with this link

This was not that great stuff to look on but still an eye opener

Read Vedas if got some time please to understand
The two main avatars of Vishnu that appear in the epics in human form are SiyaRama and RadheKrishna.
Lord Vishnu is a part of supreme soul OM and dash avatar or avatars, is the incarnation (bodily manifestation) of an Immortal Being, or of the Ultimate Supreme Being. It derives from the Sanskrit word 'avatars' which means "descent" and usually implies a deliberate descent into mortal realms for special purposes.
Mahabharata is a smriti literature written in allegorical language.
It's purpose is philosphical view of life that we see in Shri Bhagavat Geeta.
And one must accept it for knowledge.
Bhagavat is basically a part of Rigveda and so Vedas are considered the Truth of Knowledge.
The concept of Karma is what needs to be understood from Bhagavat or Vedas wherever you like.
But now for people like us
SiyaRama is considered to be closest to the human as everything done was in the boundation of human virtues.
It was to convey an ideal of human perfection, a hero who is fearless, invincible, intelligent and compassionate, quick to forgive and slow to anger, but never compromising on what is right. Such a paragon found in Prabhu SiyaRama.
The problem right now is no one wants Prabhu SiyaRama but want from Prabhu SiyaRama.
If one closely read understand and learn from Ramayana that is best for life.
Say there were sin that maa sita commits by asking for golden Deer that's what all human do by blind run towards maaya(money materialistic things)
By discarding the lakshman Rekha and then we know what HAPPENS THEN
Similarly Shri Rama forget his promises towards Maa sita and thus suffer separation and difficulties.
As maharaja Dashrath suffered putra viyoga Shri Rama suffer that too.
I mean concept of karma and all knowledge and essence of Vedas are in the characters of
Ramayana.
Simple to understand in life and most important to follow in life.
Now you asked which avataar is difficult to understand.
Each avataar comes with a purpose to establish righteousness
there is nothing difficult to understand this
And all are incarnation of supreme self
There is no difference in b/w them.
So, if one can understand one the other is same
And the path is devotion to supreme soul.
