Default What Does The Hindu Swastika Stand For?

I've seen the Hindu swastika before, and the Buddha swastika before, and I wanted to know what exactly they stood for. I know they are completely different than the Nazi swastika, but how different. Can anyone tell me what exactly it means?

The Buddhist Swastika is pure gayness, so I think the Hindi Swastika is a representation of Surya, the Hindu lord of the sun.

The swastika is a symbol for Surya.

Probably shouldn't call it a swastika, since it isn't really one...?

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit swastika (in Devanagari, S'S'sg any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark
made on persons and things to denote good luck. It is composed of Si- (cognate with Greek A-, "EU-"), meaning "good, well" and as ti a verbal abstract to the root as "to be"; avast thus means "well-being". The suffix -ka forms a diminutive, and svastika might thus be translated literally as "little thing associated with well-being".

The swastika symbol is one of the oldest symbols on the Earth and can be found in all religions and traditions, on all continents!

It is one of the 108 symbols of the Hindu god Vishnu,

Earliest archaeological evidence of swastika shapes date back to the Indus Valley Civilization.

It is also a symbol in the Buddhism.

"I know they are completely different than the Nazi swastika"
I thought that too up until last week when I went to the Buddhist temple with my wife.
From the outside I took a good look around while she was doing her thing and noticed the swastika and thought, yeah well the Nazi one goes the other way... but then I noticed another swastika behind a warrior of some kind and it was going the other way so now I'm completely confused.

I'll find the answers out one day.

AS one of the persons who answered the question says "It is one of the OLDEST symbols used by almost every Ancient Civilisation, one can think of.

As mentioned in Wikipedia---in 10,000 B.C.E.(almost 12,000 years before) Zwathika is found in Paleolithic culture near Kiev--
Neolithic Europe,
Balkans,
Samarra(4000 BCE)
Mesapotamia,
Africa,
Kush,
Caucusus
Korban Culture,Greeks
Germanic
Slavic(Russian)
Hans
Chinese
Mangolian
Pre-Vedhic Indus Valley
Lothal
Harappan
Let somebody name atleast one Ancient Civilation which has NOT used Zwasthika

Why to ask repeatedly about Hindus only ?---
