okay I'm American... i know nothing about Hinduism but i know they paint pretty pictures on hands and feet and can fix eye brows with string

I know about Shiva, Vishnu, and karma. I know that the red dot is a bind, not a portal or anything silly like that. That's about all I know though. I would like to know a whole lot more though. I'm taking an Eastern Religion class at college this semester and hope to learn much more about it.
