Yes very much.In the case you cited, it was an ancestral property acquired by your father and thus you too have rights for your share. In fact, if not otherwise willed, you are eligible for a share in your father's self-acquired property also after his demise.these are clauses of Hindu succession acts in force.

See according to Law , u will get it ... But u need to be sure about one thing that Ur Grandffather has not given NE part of his property to any one except Ur Father .... And if Ur father is the only owner of Ur grandfathers property then u can get the share in the property ... and yes if u want more assistance u can browse go ogle for constitutional rights of woman in India and get the info ....

Do not confuse yourself with the fact that you were not born when your GF died. After his demise, the property went to his sons and daughters, if there were any. It seems from what you have written, there were no other claimants and the property went to your father under Succession Act. After the sad demise of your father, the property shall be divided among his sons, daughters and your mother. It is not clear as to how many other members are there in your family. But you have to rest assured that you will certainly get full or proportionate share in the property left by your late father. And this has nothing to do with your Grandfather.
