Hey, I think you are perfect in your thoughts. Parents are old-timers but there is no need to go against them, just a little bit of puma for the sake of respect.

True, medication provides more solace than any physical activity for puma.

In fact, it gives me more satisfaction to look at the early morning Sun, join my palms and close my eyes. Even better when sit on or under a big tree, listening to birds/or total silence. I also admire fire in its pure form.

These are better than making lot of noise involving other humans.

You must respect your Parents Otherwise you will not be repaying your filial dept
The rest of your question I am unable to answer given the restriction you have placed
Hope it works out for you both

Dialy puma is like giving bath to mind. Otherwise always try to be with name of God while working.
Practise recitation of the name of God in the early morning.
recite any name you wish or like. It may be
Ram Om Shiva Shakty Waheguru Allah or God.

dear, I think Ur logic is more influential and a way to arrive to the genuine peace, joy and God...Meditation is what we can simply talk to our Aatma and that carries us to Parmatma....Same situation with me I live in a Temple called RamMandir but I hardly do all that Pooja...I just bow my head to and remember my God Shri Ram whenever I happen to cross from there....I chant RamNaam every time in my heart....and that's the real prayer....but don't ignore Ur parents box some Customs and terms are always to be followed...remember the various customs in our religion like THE 7 ROUNDS IN MARRIAGES those r not necessary but are to be followed.........
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hinduism;doing 'meditation's chanting a mantra is more solacing than 'puma ?

Manasika Puja (mental worship) is more powerful than external Puja with flowers etc.

Yes. It is so, especially in Kali Yugo.

The basis is the scriptures that guide us on the right path, the predecessor archery's and the saintly spiritual masters.

The essence of any religion is meditation. "Puja" is for ignorant mind. God is inside and not able to find outside by performing Poona, rituals, etc. Accept even a child's words if it is logic. And reject the words of Parents or any if it is non-logic.

For an extrovert Puja is necessary. It is meditation. It is not lesser than chanting Mantra.
For introverts Japa is easy.
So, it depends.

In the Hindu religion, Brahman / God is the eternal, unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all matter, energy, time, space, being, and everything beyond in this Universe. Brahman is regarded as the source and essence of the material universe.
Since, the whole universe is Brahman himself, nature, parents, teachers, every atom in this universe can be said to be God. They all form part of this universe and our nature and thus are important for us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahman
God can be prayed via pictorial representation, idols, imagination, mantras and any possible manner that suit you.
Praying gives you a sense of security and perhaps through concentration on him; we can create positive vibrations / energies which can cure us form diseases, spirit possession, guide us and so on.

The purpose of meditation is to reach that point of peacefulness of mind; from where stillness of the body and intellect comes into existence; and all this to ensure that the mind and intellect reaches out to; and knows the nature, quality, and style of working of parameter or the supreme lord; and consciously chooses to not only be with him; but also to adopt his nature, quality, and style of working; as their own; for helping the body to live, and survive.

The mind and intellect; when choose to not only be with the lord; but also to adopt his nature, quality, and style of working; as their own; uses the methodology of puma or admiration and adoration of the permeates; or the supreme lord; for ensuring that the blessings of his grace are received by them; and they are empowered and enabled to perform their actions with the help of the nature, quality, and style of working of the being of permeates or the lord.; .

Japan can be done at all times and by everyone. Thus it is easy and sublime.

Puja can be done only by a selective few.

Japa is universal, whereas puma is selective.

So Japan is superior.

meditation is always aimed at inner peace &tranquility. this method is superior than all the other methods in acquiring peace. u feel fresh, calm, composed, collected if u practice meditation for
one hour a day--half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening
