Default Hindus, How true or false is this statement in this modern era?

the sacrifice of knowledge is greater than the sacrifice of material possessions. Arjuna, after all, the sacrifice of work culminates in knowledge. - 4.33

Does this differ in different ages - ancient or modern?

The possessions u have should be left one day so it's intelligent to sacrifice them. The sacrifice of work culminates to knowledge becks if go on sacrificing actions the unnecessary actions will vanish and it leads to knowledge The sacrifice of knowledge is possible only after you acquire wisdom. This statement is applicable in all ages.

These statements carry there values even in modern era because these are true. In different ages, facilities, cultures, behaviors, languages change, but the underline Law of Nature (i.e. Dharma, just like laws of light and sound) doesn't change.

Knowing and acting both are actions. However, there are differences. Knowing the Self, immediately removes the ignorance, because Knowledge and Ignorance are in direct contradiction.

In other hand, pure actions progressively purifies the mind, and prepares it for Self-inquiry, thereby helping indirectly toward eliminates in knowledge.
