Default Why is Hinduism the right religion?

This question is obviously for Hindus. I am an atheist. I used to be a Christian. If I don't believe my race and culture's religion about a Hebrew tribal God sending his Son to die for the sins of mankind and being raised from the dead, why should I believe your Aryan superstitions about reincarnation, polytheism, karma, and these idols you people worship?
And that bit about holding a cow sacred.
To Renee below: Hinduism is not very "tolerant." Let us not forget history. When the British gave India its independence, The first thing the the Hindus did was go to one hell of a war with the Moslems resulting in Pakistan breaking with India. The war was a bloodbath.

No religion is right, but Hinduism has many advantages over monotheism. There are lots of cute gods to choose from like that cute little elephant, Ganesh.

OK, get over yourself. Be an atheist and that is your right but allow others to pick who they desire to worship as GOD. In my eyes all religions are right, I am not agree with someones GOD but will not tell anyone he/she is wrong.

Your question is too vague. Hinduism is a good and decent path. The concept of something as being the "right religion" is what causes wars and cultural hatred. There is no one religion.

As a pagan and a human i have learned.....all spiritual beliefs are right so long as they pass to tests.....fir ts they observe free will and secondly they are tolerant and able to grow....Hinduism is one of these.....

dear friend...

all religions do the right thing to make the scene better and fixed... but it all depends on us as human being on how we are going to follow it or not...
i will say that Hinduism is the right religion because it creates each existence for each situation that occur es and created in this world... or i shall say galaxy... for braveness : DURGA for wealth : lax mi & so on.... although we have to admin that god is only ONE...

may be i am wrong.. but this is what i think as... cause god comes in a family and human life living and they goes to the second stage as GOD....

It is sad that you left Christianity maybe you did not know that Christianity is based on FACTS, some books that I think you might find helpful.

Dawkins God, by Dr Alister McGrath
Jesus under fire. by Dr JP Moreland
The Case For Christ, by Lee Strobel
The Case for a Creator, by Lee Strobel

Nobody knows what the right religion is - they can only go by what is right for themselves.

Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism, and many more ism's are businesses controlled by priest's of different beliefs. Krishna, Muhammad, Jesus, Buddha, Guru Nanak and many more saints never created Gurudwaras, Mosque, Temples, Churches or Monasteries. They all realized themselves and served people without any expectations, or returns. Their way of leading life is explained in different holy books and is being shared by so called religions. Unfotunately it is not being practiced.

Their is no right religion, their are ways of leading life and the best ones for humanity were practiced by the above mentioned saints, god-realized, loving, caring people. Instead of practicing their ways we are using them to have wars and play divide & rule games.
Love

why did you become a non believer my friend? GOD loves you as HE loves me.no more and no less just equal.i hope you pray.i hate Satan and i always will.he has caused me alto of trouble during my life.as you can recall,JOB a very godly man had an abundance of everything money cattle goats land and endless supply of grain and land that would yield many crops.however Satan told GOD that JOB would turn his back on GOD. well GOD said no he wouldn't so Satan asked GOD to let him prove it.GOD said OK but dint take his life.Satan killed his family and ruined his crops and destroyed all he possessed and thieves stole his money and his livestock leaving him with nothing.well JOB just shaved his head and sat in a ash pile and covered his body with ash as a symbol of mourning.he did not curse GOD but thanked HIM.GOD was very pleased with JOB so HE rewarded him with twice as much as he had possessed before. but read JOB because it shows me that even in the worse of times GOD is with you and understands your troubles.it also pleases GOD that when your at the very lowest point in your life that you dint worry about it and pray that HE will help you.the bible can explain it better than i.

I believe that whatever religion/belief path a person chooses is the right one for them. NO-ONE is right or wrong and no-one has the right to tell anyone that what they believe is wrong and anyone else is right. There are many ways up a mountain and we should all find our own path

Any religion is only right for those whom it leads to the knowledge of God and/or Ultimate Truth. Religions are not ends in themselves, but merely paths to a goal. I walk the path of Hinduism and find it the most effective path for me. It is the right one for my soul. Forget about whether all Hindus are tolerant. I am tolerant, peaceful, and I do not approve of the bloodbaths, and I am following the teachings of Hinduism. Not all people of ANY faith are representative of that faith. There are good and bad among every set of believers, and every set of nonbelievers. That is just human nature.

You don't have to believe in any of the teachings of Hinduism. If you find them hard to believe, then don't. I don't have a problem with that. What I find more important is that you embrace the values of compassion, selflessness, and non-violence. Live a life of integrity and honesty. Be kind. Be helpful to others when you can. These are the things that matter.

It's just that for some - me included - the practices of Hinduism happen to be effective tools for increasing those very values within ourselves. Praying daily, I remind myself each and every day of the most important values. Reading the story of Rama, I see in him an exemplary behavior that I wish to emulate. Reading the stories of Krishna, I find a way to fall in love completely with God. I have reasons I believe in reincarnation and karma. I have seen what I believe constitutes satisfactory evidence for them. And they give me an ordered and sensible way to view the world. If they don't do that for you, then by all means, reject them.

Reject anything that would be an impediment to your spiritual growth, and accept those things that help you become a better person. It's really that simple. But realize that what works and does not work for you is NOT the same for others. We all have very different make-ups. So you are welcome to reject it, but you might try to appreciate the fact that it does work for other people.

We do not believe our religion is the only "right" religion. We believe there are many paths to God, and our way is just one of the many ways of becoming closer to God.

By the way, when the British left India they set Muslims and Hindus against each other. Although there were of course some extremists on both sides, for the most part Hindus wanted people of all faiths to live together peacefully in India [ proved by the fact that India is a secular nation ]. Gandhi, a Hindu, was willing to give up being prime minister despite the fact that he was most deserving and give it up to Jinnah, a Muslim, just so India could remain undivided, with both religions coexisting and cooperating.

Get some education.

You may be an atheist , that's your choice. You have no right to tell others what to believe and what not to believe.

You are still acting like a missionary in behavior- trying to shove down your beliefs on others.

# Pakistan was not originated by Hindus waring against Muslims.

Muslims demanded a separate country on the mythical grounds that majority Hindus will take revenge for 1000 years of Islamic atrocities, once they got freedom.

Still if You study statistics even given by Muslim humanitarians in Pakistan you will find at the time of partition and after that its Hindus who are victims.

And Mr ignorant, Pakistan got its freedom on 14 August while India on 15 August after midnight. So it was not war that created Pakistan.

If Hindus were not tolerant after the atrocities of Muslims in Noakhali and other areas , India would not have had Second largest Muslim population in the world.

Rockstar below is competing with you in sturdiness originated from false knowledge.
