There is more to any religion than its holy text(s). Faiths don't stop advancing after the books are written. The original U.S. Constitution legalized slavery and only gave male landowners the right to vote. Should I leave or loathe the U.S.A. as a result?

Obviously not all (or, I hope, not most) Muslims believe in beating women, just like most Christians don't believe that working on the Sabbath should be punishable by death.

If I were a woman over there I would be dead, because I would knock the crap out of ANY MAN who laid their hands on me. So I would be dead.

I would be scared to hit a woman in this day. My close friend slapped his wife on Friday and she hit him in the head with a frying pan. He went cold out and is still unconscious in the hospital. It may be easier for Muslim men to commit suicide than to beat their wives.

I could point you to a hundred worse things in the bible. For starters, take the part in Exodus when God tells Moses that they have to kill every man, woman, and child that were then occupying the land he was about to give them. Today we call that genocide. Then God punishes them because they didn't kill everyone like he told them. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian, but it ain't just the Muslims that have this kind of history.

don't talk about something you don't know any thing about. this is not the translate of what is in Th Curran, you can translate the parts that said "don't kill the younger people, and the women",
like the Israeli people are doing killing innocent people and don't care about any one in the world this is a religion to leave.

I don't trust the modern translations and extrapolations of the Quran to be accurate, any more than I trust the translations and extrapolations there are of the Christian Bible to be accurate. Enough said.

It is better to beat the wife.... than to cut off her hand or shave her, as the Bible recommends:
