It's a religious book that came from Muslims in Islam as I've heard. Apparently, all the false stories and contradictions in "The Bible", are all cleared and free of in "Quran"... I find this hard to believe (I'm atheist), since I've found multiple listings of verses that contain many errors. I even watched a video of how someone was trying to explain that the "Big Bang" theory was mentioned in the Quran in the verse: And Heaven and Earth was joined together and We Tore them apart. The person said that verse meant the Big Bang.
All of this I find ridiculous, and Muslims that I debate with only call me names, or to go read the whole text or talk to a linguistic Muslim scholar. Oh, and they tell me that errors are just false interpretations and that there are multiple meanings to words. I know there are multiple definitions... but to have that many errors and saying how it's translated differently makes me suspicious.
All the supposed science in the Quran is bullshit.
When they roll up to tell you that "x number of times land is mentioned and x times sea is mentioned and divide one by the other to get the ratio of sea to land etc etc". the numbers are actually wrong, but close.
i believe it is true but it is for you to decide.
for the errors part, it is Miss interpretation. If u were to learn Arabic then u would no that there are no errors in the Quran.
Misinterpretation is made when they dint translate each word so that it would make sense in English.
just like English has homonyms so does most other language
there are many things that Quran foretold that go together with science. like in Quran it says that everywhere there is water. How would Pol , in the desert, 1400 years ago possibly believe that?
recently v have learned that a cell has a cytoplasm which is made of liquid/water. and it is only visible through a microscope. how could Pol 1400 years ago have known about cells and that it contains cytoplasm when the microsope wasnt even invented.
i reccomend u watch Dr. Zakir Naik. he releates the Quran to Science today.
and i think that u shuld go ask some more calm/ patient muslims for if you have questions if the ones u currently are talking to are calling you names. preferably ask adults not like teens
and for ur last sentence. differnt ppl translates each thing differently. The Arabic Quran is the same where ever you may go but the translated one may be different because ppl translate it different and ppl do make mistakes by not putting hte correct word in the sentece so that it does not contradict.
There are things you need to know about both Bibles and the Quran. They were written by man is one of them. Second is that the average person of those times had about a fourth grade education and most of the common people were illiterate. Hence what most of the works are is stories that were told to the populace concerning things, some of which even the wisest couldn't comprehend and stories handed down for centuries, if not millennium. For example, few people imagined that the earth was round let alone believe a theory that the earth was created by a big bang billions of light years away. So if you want to know if any of the holy books is completely accurate, the answer is no. So what is specifically written may not be accurate but the lessons that each one teaches should be.
I can give a guess about the different interpretations. The Bible that we recognize mostly was formatted, for lack of a better work, by King Constantine around the 15Th century. I do not believe there was such a central "formatting" of the Quran. Being that the Muslim world spans several countries and such, it is not inconceivable that they may have translated it differently.
Lets see...this will probably piss off both sides of this issue. z
The Great Challenge to Produce
One Chapter Like the Chapters
of the Holy Quran
God has said in the Quran:
And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed (the Quran) to Our worshiper (Muhammad ), then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides God if you are truthful. And if you do not do it, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones. It has been prepared for disbelievers. And give good news (O Muhammad) to those who believe and do good deeds, that for them are gardens (Paradise) in which rivers flow.... (Quran, 2:23-25)
Ever since the Quran was revealed, fourteen centuries ago, no one has been able to produce a single chapter like the chapters of the Quran in their beauty, eloquence, splendor, wise legislation, true information, true prophecy, and other perfect attributes. Also, note that the smallest chapter in the Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words, yet no one has ever been able to meet this challenge, then or today.1 Some of the disbelieving Arabs who were enemies of the Prophet Muhammad tried to meet this challenge to prove that Muhammad was not a true prophet, but they failed to do so.2 This failure was despite the fact that the Quran was revealed in their own language and dialect and that the Arabs at the time of Muhammad were a very eloquent people who used to compose beautiful and excellent poetry, still read and appreciated today.
The smallest chapter in the Holy Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words, yet no one has ever been able to meet the challenge to produce one chapter like the chapters of the Holy Quran.
Quran teach us wisdom that even in Muslims some people are not Muslims.
"(2:8) Then there are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day", whereas they do not believe at all."
and It challenge
"(2:23) And if you be in doubt whether the Book We have sent down to Our Servant is from Us or not, then produce, at least, one Surah like this. You may call all your associates to assist you and avail yourselves of the help of any one other than Allah. If you are genuine in your doubt, do this.
(2:24) But if you do not do this, and you can never do this, then fear the Fire which has been prepared for the disbelievers and which shall have men and stones for fuel."
and also tells us facts
"(2:74) But even after seeing these Signs your hearts hardened and became as hard as rocks; nay, even harder than rocks. For there are some rocks out of which springs gush forth, and others which split open, and water issues out of them; then there are some which tumble down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.
(2:75) O Muslims, do you then expect that these people will accept your invitation and become believers? whereas there have always been among them some who have been hearing the Word of God, understanding it well and then perverting and tampering with it knowingly."
"(2:78) Then there are among them some UN-lettered people who have no knowledge of the Book but depend upon empty hopes and are guided by mere conjecture and guess-work.
(2:79) So woe to their learned people, who write the law with their own hands and then say to the people, "This is from Allah," so that they might gain some paltry worldly end. (They do not see that) this writing of their hands will bring woe to them and what they gain thereby will lead to their ruin.
(2:80) They also say, "The fire of Hell is not going to touch us, and even if it does at all, it will be only for a few days". Say, "Have you obtained a promise from Allah which He would not break? Or, do you attribute to Allah things you do not know? Why will not the fire of Hell touch you?
(2:81) Whoever earns evil and becomes engrossed in sin shall be doomed to Hell and abide therein for ever.
(2:82) Only those people who believe and do good deeds, will be the dwellers of the Garden and live there for ever."
and tells us the whole story of children of Israel.
and tells us use your intellect.
" and Allah lays abomination on those who do not use their understanding." (10:100)
Quran also teaches us that the Israelites have killed many prophets. You can see in their own history. (2 Chronicles 16: 7-10.) (1 Kings 19: 14) (1 Kings 22: 26-7) (2 Chronicles 24: 2l.) (Jeremiah 15: 10; 18: 20-3; 20: 1-18; 36-40) (Amos 7: 10-13.) (Mark 6: 17-29) (Matthew 27: 20-6).
and it is very logical.
"(38:28) Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked?
(38:29) This is a highly blessed Book, which We have sent down to you, so that these people may ponder over its verses and the men of understanding may learn lessons from it."
