Default I want to convert to Islam but I'm scared of telling my Mum?(I know it's long but ple

I'm 15 and I'm currently Christian and I'm really into science and I do believe there is a God and only one God but I am very open minded to other peoples belief and I'm not going to try and say that if you have a load of Gods you're wrong, that's your way of life and your own choice and I believe everyone has the right to their religion. I wasn't actually looking for proof, I was studying time travel theories cos it interests me and I'd like to come up with the perfect time travel theory that doesn't include nuclear energy and I'm current working on my own equation for time travel and it works and makes perfect sense so far based on other theories, but I was watching this documentary and they were saying that time is so vast and so powerful and that how fast technology is progressing that this Earth could possibly just be a computer pro gramme(ok I don't believe that) but they said that for an energy as powerful as time to exist there must be a higher being, a creature with no beginning and no end and for me that's God and was way before I came ac cross this, but as you've figured I'm very into the science of things and the Bible is way too far fetched, the things that happen in it, some of it I can't believe, mainly the creation story, and to be part of a religion you need to believe all of it and quite frankly, I can't believe Christianity.
Now, I'm not Catholic and to be honest I'm not properly Christian, I'm part of a Christian Church but I still have the choice of my religion so I don't have to actually convert, but I go to a Catholic School and we had an Islam Awareness Week and this mobile exhibit from Rotheram set up in the school for a week and they showed all the Islamic beliefs and prophets and I came over a science section and it showed the Islamic Creation Story and how it was similar to the Big Bang and it covered other beliefs of Islam and showed how they matched with modern day science and I can believe it as none of it is as far fetched as the bible, the bible is like a fairy-tale compared to the Quran and I really want to convert to Islam, as I believe it is the right faith for me but I live in the UK and as you probably know the media is blinded by the fact of Al-quad(I don't know how to spell it) doing their terrorist bombing when they're only a tiny part of Islam and most my mates hate Islam and alto of their parents hate Isalm because of the media and I'm afraid if I open my mouth my Mum will be the same, no matter how understanding my Dad says my Mum is, I don't think she'll like it.
What can I do, cos if I can't change religion now I'll change at 16 but I'd like to convert sometime before I'm 16.
What should I do?
I did try hinting it to her by telling her how believe able I find the Quran but that didn't work.

Well if you want to convert to Islam you can't accept other religions or other beliefs, especially beliefs in multiple gods. Islam, according to the Koran, is the only true religion. So therefore, study it first before you make that decision of converting.

Edit: remember when you say girlfriend, you are referring to a girl on the Internet you have never met (yes I saw your new question)

Hiya, I am a seventeen year old girl and I am a Christian.

Yes the Bible can be hard to believe, but if you trust and believe in God then you trust and believe in his word! And the things he has done have been AMAZING! Why turn your back on a God so fun and kind and loving and mighty?!

He has done amazing things, just because they seem too good to be true it doesn't mean that they are..this is God we are talking about, the maker of the universe, the most powerful one that has ever existed, and he wants you in his life! And you don't want him??

Don't think about science and facts, think about your heart and soul xxx

if you are gay or bi---just guessing you are because you posted in the LGBT section----your better off staying christian as they are slightly more tolerant than Muslims of gay people.

both are wrong, and hateful, and made-up. do you really need an imaginary friend to tell you right from wrong?

if your not gay or bi---why the hell bother us

You may be interested in science but don't believe everything you see or read. There are so many crack pot theories around about everything, especially time. Also the majority of Christians believe the Bible is a crock of shit, more or less a bunch of stories to be used as a moral compass on how one should live their life, almost all religious texts (including Islam) have crazy stories that if u told today outside of religion people would assume you were crazy. You can still follow a religion without agreeing 100% with their chosen text.

You sound a bit too serious, take everything with a grain of salt...especially TV shows pretending to talk about science, people will say anything to get ratings.

Also advances in technology aren't going to make time travel possible, as Einstein's equations (which have so far been perfect so far for describing the time-gravity relationship) state that to achieve time travel you would have to travel faster than the speed of light, which most physicists believe impossible.

What has this to do with LGBT? Anyway I think that most religions are a way of controlling vast populations with manipulation. Do what you feel is right. I know that Im going to get some thumbs down because religious people don't like it when you say thing that are too near the truth. Sorry if I offend anybody

The creation story is exactly the same in the Koran and the Bible, except in the Koran it doesn't say that "god rested on the seventh day". Oh, and it's talked about in a few more places. The Koran is merely a rehashing and retelling of earlier Christian and Jewish mythologies.

"I can believe it as none of it is as far fetched as the bible"

Mashallah. my advice is tell her what the religion is all about. That it is not what is said in the media and maybe give her the Quran and let her see what Islam teaches for herself. Your mother is very important in Islam but Allah is greater. I hope I helped and good luck. I saw your question by Islam searching questions on YA.
Next put questions about Islam in the Ramadan section. peace.

i don't think it will be a good idea if u tell her now wait until u r independent ,u can convert but without telling her ,also u said that she had a bad idea of Islam because of media so u should learn more about Islam so that u can defend your viewpoint and make her believe it's not that bad,but i think it will be good if u open with her some discussion about the things u like in Qura'n and things that seem unconvincing to you.
