Default Is the Quran only truly understndble in arabic?

this was said in the Khyber

this doesn't seem right... why God make his message only understandable in one language???

Well.. the Arabic language is quite rich in its vocab and all matters of language. And English seems to fall short in conveying the true essence of the message that the Arabic language perfected in its means.

It is understandable in English too.. but the real essence of the message is perfected in Arabic.

then he is wrong
WE CAN NOT UNDERSTAND QURAN WITHOUT PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAWW).

We may be scholar of Arabic but still can not understand Quran without the teachings of prophet Muhammad (Saw).

EDIT

Your Imam must be an Arab- Arabs are messing up with Qumran for last 1400 years.

well yes and no.
you see, it's not necessarily only understandable in Arabic, because you can understand in English for example, it just takes a lot of depth and time to fully explain
because the book was originally written in such a unique and elegant format, it even truly takes a lot to understand it in Arabic.
obviously we can understand the main rules that we need, but to get a deeper understanding you need to study Arabic.
it's also important to remember that any translation of the Qumran is only an interpretation because the Arabic language is so vast.

u can understand it in other languages, but in order to study it in depth, you will need knowledge of Arabic (or someone knowledge you can ask).

For example, every letter and punctuation matters so that's where the knowledge of the Arabic language is critically important. But there are books/people that help you.

The speaker probably meant if you study it on your own, you will need to know the language.

Mohammad said clearly that it was an easy and simple book to read and understand... he was wrong! 90% of Muslim cannot read. speak or write in Arabic... let alone the Arabic that was spoken 1400 years ago which is not the same as it is today... and even fluent Arabic speakers have issues with the words cause inflections were not added to Arabic until hundreds of years later...

It is a trap Muslim use to try and confuse none-Muslims... but it is no longer working... we know the truth - the Koran is full of grammatical errors, missing verses, additions made by a scribe (with Mohammad's permission) and put together after Mohammad's death... Moreover, another Qu'ran was discovered in Yemen and is in Germany being studied... Current results show the Koran for Yemen differs dramatically from the Koran in use today.... Ya, so much for a one of a kind book! Hope this answers your question.

No, it's not! It doesn't have anything to do with language. Using our heart (not organ) and common sense is the only way to understand Quran.

translation can bring you closer to the meaning of Quran.
but it can never be 100%.
in translation there can be errors.
when you read translation you are basically getting the 2ND hand knowledge.
you are understanding what the translator understood.

if you want to study Shakespeare you should study him in English to fully understand what he says.
translation will only bring you closer to what he says.

but if you can't lean Arabic at least get 4-5 different translations.
