Default Quran was written by men with an impossible task?

Long after Muhammed was dead. Why didn't Muhammed feel it necessary with something so important to Muslims that he never compiled or authorized the compilation of the Quran whilst alive?

Why didn't he get a scribe to write down each revelation as it was given him

Abu Bkar was left with an almost impossible task of sending some to find writings relating to any revelations, (why didn't Abu Bkar know all the revelations from memory?) but here is an example of how they were search for

So I started to search for the Quranic material and to collect it from parchments, scapula, leafstalks of date palms and from the memories of men (who knew it by heart.)

It beggers belief that something so important could be soley composed from leaves, stones or mans memories. So why DIDNT Muhammed have this important message to the Muslims penned and written down whilst he was alive? after all these messages spanned 23 years of his life.

When some writing were found they had to be translated back into Quarish as was the language of that era
@ Amzi - if Muhammed had scribes to write e erything down, how come others had to search for his syaings. Why did they have to find his sayings on leaves, bones, stones etc wasnt ther parchment in his day?

They didn't write it down because everyone knew the whole Qur'an by heart and they recited it frequently, however, Islam was spreading even after the death of the Prophet (PBUH) and people who were learning the Qur'an were beginning to pronounce some of the words incorrectly and so they had to start writing it down to avoid people wrongly memorizing the Qur'an.

Hope this helps!!!

P.S. please answer my question:

LOL. well basically, that might be a belief of some random school of thought in Islam, but here's what my sect believe. it makes sense.

The Prophet got a scribe to write down each verse to make sure that people knew he wasn't making it up or something along those lines.

After he was dead, his son in law Ali wrote it out again and again with the vowel marks so that non Arabic speakers would be able to read it after he was dead - I think that's really considerate of him because i can't read without the vowel marks :L

also, I think original copies of the ones he wrote out are available in some museums around the world.

First of all whenever the holy prophet received a revelation he WOULD tell his scribes to write it down. Because he was illiterate (could neither read nor write) His scribes would write down the revelations and then recite it back to him to look for any mistakes.

The real reason (up to my knowledge, I'm not fully sure) As i have heard was that the holy prophet was worried that if he ordered the Quran to be written and compiled into book form, during his lifetime, the scribes may accidental include some of his words and mistake them as the words of God.

Abu bark did know thew Quran by heart OB, CZ he was the prophets best friend and spent all his time with him. The reason he sent the scribes (Zaid bin habit) And some others to tour Arabia and gather all the pieces of the Quran so that he could make sure it was indeed authentic and nothing had been added\ missed.

And yep because the dialect of the Quraysh in which the Quran was revealed was slightly diff form all the other dialects in Arabia at that time, plus its obv some of it may have bin translated back into its original form cuz those were the exact words revealed to the prophet

If the revelation was not from Allah {Set} then you make something as beautiful as it without any flaw.

Then you have your answer
