Dear Jews do you believe Ezra is begotten son of Jehovah? Quran 9:30 says like this.?
In Quran, Sura (9:30) it says like this - And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son o f Allah... Allah (Himself) fights against them. How perverse are they!
Of course Christians believe that Messiah, Jesus Christ is begotten son of God. But I don't know Jews believe Ezra to be the begotten son of God.
Anyone who follows god's commandments is called as son of god. May be they are saying like this. They never say that Ezra is begotten son of God like Christians believe Jesus.
How could all know Allah, give a statement like this? Does not he know that Jews don't believe Ezra to be the begotten son of Jehovah?
Context matters. Many statements in the Quraan refer to certain groups; not all people of all time.
A group of Jews in that place and at that time and who had some authority were apparently making some similar claim. Otherwise Muhammad and his companions would definitely have lost some major credibility over this dispute, as the accused were right there, hearing it. Still, many accepted Muhammad's message after that.
......................And next verse 2;31 says............'' They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God, There is no GOD save Him, Be He glorified from all that they ascribe as partner [unto Him]
Read Qur'an its from One God,........................
Do you have any Scripture that Jews not called that Ezra is the son of God. [if then prove it]
Noble Qur'an,the final testament which God Almighty revealed to Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] as guidance for all mankind, speaks highly not-only of Mary;but also Jesus her son,
@ pr em read Qur'an one day you will except the god words,
Thank you for your Quiestion,
Ever since the Quran first appeared with that false claim about Jews, the answer has been the same and it shall always remain the same. No, that has never been acceptable within the belief of Judaism or a practice of any group of Jews.
This is one of those questions that for someone who believes their Quran is infallible, they're not going to acknowledge the answer anyway..so why ask?
However, there is evidence that indicates why the replacement theology of the Quran made this claim. Anyone who says that there has EVER been any worship of Ezra within Judaism is utterly wrong.
To worship anything other than God EXCLUSIVELY has always been forbidden to the Jewish people.
Idolatry/worship of a human or ANY other entity is one of the 3 sins Torah considers such an egregious violation of the covenant of Israel, a Jew would rather DIE than commit.
That claim was made to inflame Jews who would not covert to Islam.
There has been speculation that this accusation was done to INSULT some Jews of Yemen who were not very friendly to Ezra by claiming they worshiped to or through him in the manner that Christians portray Jesus.
Historically speaking, both the New Testament and the Quran contain more than one passage within each replacement theology that appears to have been placed there for the sole purpose of inflaming and insulting Jews and the religion of Judaism. The New Testament and the Quran doctrines attempt to to replace and invalidate the eternal Torah. This claim about Ezra appears to be one such passage. Several of the claims I've seen regarding their claim of Jews calling Ezra (Uzair) a son of God, specifically named the Yemenite Jewish community as having followed him as a "son of God". That was the key that led me to discover that this was a claim made to insult Judaism and specifically the Jews of Yemen.
Here is a quote from the Jewish Encyclopedia to let you know the background of the Jews of Yemen: "Various traditions trace the earliest settlement of Jews in this region back to the time of Solomon, and the Sanaite Jews have a legend to the effect that their forefathers settled there forty-two years before the destruction of the First Temple. Under the prophet Jeremiah 75,000 Jews, including priests and Levites, are said to have gone to Yemen; and when Ezra commanded the Jews to return to Jerusalem they disobeyed, whereupon he pronounced an everlasting ban upon them. Tradition states, however, that as a punishment for this hasty action Ezra was denied burial in Palestine. As a result of this tradition, which is devoid of historicity, no Jew of Yemen gives the name of Ezra to a child, although all other Biblical superlatives are found there."
While Jews outside of the Yemenite community hold Ezra in high regard, he is not considered "the son of God" in any REMOTE resemblance to the manner that Christians view Jesus as a divine being.
The Jewish concept that all human beings who strive toward righteousness are called sons of God..but metaphorically speaking because we all contain the soul/breath of life given by God.
All humans are "children" of the Creator in Jewish belief. Even the dysfunctional ones that I wouldn't want to sit too close to at a family reuinion. Judaism never permits worship of any human, God does not become incarnate. It makes NO sense to attribute TO Jews a belief that violates the very thing that differentiated it from all other religions when it began..the concept that God is an incorporeal ONE..and laws that forbid worship of humans as deities.
"Ezra HaSofer" - Ezra the Scribe; a great leader of the Jewish People at the time of the building of the "Second Temple," in approximately year 516 B.C.E. He made many decrees preserving the way of life of the Torah among the Jewish People. He mounted a strong campaign against intermarriage among those who returned with him from Exile in Babylonia. In his greatness, he is compared to Moshe.
A Book of the Bible bears his name, and gives an historical account of his time. The word "Sofer," meaning "Scribe," actually meant more than the current meaning of the term "Sofer." It was the name given to the Scholarly Leaders of the People at that time in history.
Jews do not call Ezra "the son of God".
To Jews everyone reading this is a child of God..metaphorically speaking..because we all contain the breath of life given by God.
There is no "THE" son of God. Worship of or through any human being is what made Judaism DISTINCT from surrounding religions whose rulers were almost always believed to be divine. The Torah forbade worship of a man as a god long before Mohammed introduced Islam to the world and the Quran came up with the false notion of Ezra?s role in Judaism.
