Default Burn a Quran Day?! Are you kidding me?! What do you think of this?

I've heard that there is a "Burn a Quran Day". And it was made by a pastor! That's rather strange. Muslims- What do you think of this?

(I don't want hate comments from atheists or anyone else. I do NOT support this rude "holiday". I am just curious to see what other Muslims think.)
Guys- I know this is old news! And I know it never happened. I just wanted to know your takes, thoughts and opinions of this.
@ no chance without Nat20
No, I just said no hate comments. I just asked my fellow Muslims what there thoughts were.

Hate comment- I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO TO THOSE PIECES OF TRASH
Disagreeing but Respectful Comment- I think it's OK. They aren't hurting anything.

See?

Old news.

I think it's ridiculous myself. I don't advocate the burning of ANY book (I mean, unless you were like stuck in an abandoned library somewhere in Saskatchewan in the dead of winter and there were wolves outside the door trying to get in to eat you and the only thing you could do to keep yourself warm and keep the wolves at bay was to burn all 150 copies of Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue")

That was months ago. Where have you been?

BTW, why do you assume that atheists would give you hate comments, to the exclusion of theists?

This was never actually carried out. The guy was convince to stop but not soon enough to prevent an international incident.

Pity he didn't do it and die from smoke inhalation: would have been one for the Darwin awards.

Also: agree with partaker and logic. It is ridiculous to say that it is atheists who post hate comments, I have seen more from theists in R&S.

Don't worry, the hate comments don't come from atheists. Maybe the Christians who started that "holiday", but not atheists.

Wasn't that awhile ago? Is there a new one? If its true its annoying and disrespectful. When I was a Muslim this would have made me very angry.

It's just another face of prejudice in the world... Book burning, regardless of what kind of book it is, is wrong. America doesn't need more censorship.

If they start burning books, they will soon be burning people.

Burning any book is stupid, however stupid the book.

Terry Jones and company were (and still are) a bunch of fun die idiots who got way more air time than they deserved. It wasn't the first wacko stunt those bozos pulled and unfortunately it's unlikely to be the last.

It was a needless provocation.

Meanwhile, as I recall, there wasn't exactly a wave of protest from the Muslim world.

That is quite silly. I don't particularly want people to *do* some of the things written in the Qur'an, but I see absolutely no problem in *reading* the book.

So... you only want polite answers from people who agree with you. Yep, you've got the whole 'open minded' thing down pat.

It's funny because the New Testament was being burned in Israel a few years ago and it got no media coverage in the States.
