MY mother raised me as a Catholic, and I'm only 19, almost 20. And in high school my faith drifted from the church.. I've decided to do some soul searching, and I have accepted that Allah is the Almighty. I want to live a better life, for Allah. I just don't know what the first step/or what I need to do next. I plan on learning Arabic I just need to know which direction to go to first. Please help!
Serious responses only please.
Well, you're female so you should prepare yourself for abuse at the behest of your "God".
I hope you are in the US or Canada... At least here it is technically illegal for anyone to beat, rape, or kill you.

? Muslim Women Are Told to "Laugh Off" rape:
http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2009/01/australian-muslim-clerick-wives-to-laugh-off-rape.html
Melbourne, Jan 24 : Beleaguered cleric Abu Hamza came under fire again for his radical views on rape when his website claimed that Muslim wives could laugh off unwanted sex and rape could be confused with simply having a pushy husband.
In response to the sex-on-demand and wife smacking controversy sparked by Hamza's lectures, his Islamic Information and Services Network of Australasia website published an article saying the media had no right to question his marital teachings.
But the article on Hamza's IISNA website suggested a Muslim wife could choose to "laugh off'" sex without consent or that spousal rape was hard to define and could just be a case of being married to a "pushy husband".

Verbal abuse they can get away with because it would be your word against his... But seeing as how you were raised outside the Islamic Faith and in a Christian Cult, I can only assume you won't "submit" to the abuse that those raised in the Islamic Cult.

I HONESTLY hope you read the Quran and Hadiths from start to finish... Then you will see that they are just as delusional and evil as your Catholic Bible.
If you want to do something positive, put all your effort and time in to getting proper mental health treatment for the mental illness you are suffering known as "Theism".
Keep in mind that once you "Convert", if you try to leave, your "Brothers" and "Sisters" will say you should be killed at most, raped and shamed at least. Don't believe me? Google "Raped for Leaving Islam". Stats don't lie but theists do. Good luck!

? Links to Spirituality Found in the Brain

Scientists have identified areas of the brain that, when damaged, lead to greater spirituality. The findings hint at the roots of spiritual and religious attitudes, the researchers say.
? Predisposition for Religion Can Spread Quickly
http://www.livescience.com/culture/religion-and-fertility-110111.html
Religiously observant people have more children than other people do, according to demographic studies. Assuming there's a genetic predisposition for religion, this means the religion gene could spread relatively quickly throughout a population. Research using new mathematical models demonstrates just how quickly this could happen. A religious group that makes up only 0.5 percent of a population could make up 50 percent within 10 generations, according to one of the models.
? Scientists See God on the Brain
http://www.livescience.com/culture/090309-brain-religion.html
Brain scans showed that participants fell back on higher thought patterns when reacting to religious statements, whether trying to figure out God's thoughts and emotions or thinking about metaphorical meaning behind religious teachings. "That suggests that religion is not a special case of a belief system, but evolved along with other belief and social cognitive abilities," said Jordan Grafman, a cognitive neuroscience at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland.

Go to the local Mosque, talk to the imam and most certainly ignore the idiots on here who can only think of blowing things up, obviously some of us haven't gotten out of the sandbox yet. There are LOTS of things you will need to learn and know in order to really understand Islam
You need to learn more about the God you were raised with. Arabic Christians (there are millions of them) also call God "Allah". The word does not mean "the god of Islam". It is the Arabic word "God".
"The Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch, also known as the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East and the Antiochian Orthodox Church (Greek: ???????????? ??????????, Patriarche?on Antioche?as; Arabic: SS's? S'sA????? ????? ??????????), is an autocephalous Greek Orthodox Church within the wider communion of Orthodox Christianity. Headed by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch, it considers itself the successor to the Christian community founded in Antioch by the Apostle Peter. Antiochian Greek Orthodox Christians are of Greek, Early Christian and Ancient Macedonian heritage." [1] As you'll see, they are called Greek Orthodox, but have done everything in Arabic for many, many years without changing the faith.
If you are fascinated with Arabic, it can be learned in a Christian context, too.
There are deep riches of faith and devotion to God to be found in the ancient Christian faith. If you can't for whatever reason bring yourself back to Catholicism, I suggest looking into Orthodox Christianity. We have kept the true faith of Jesus since He walked the earth.
Most importantly, Read the Quran and Hadiths.
Go and get guidance from a local mosque.
Take classes on Islam in college.
Make Muslim friends and learn from them.
The truth is that JESUS is God. But Islam rejects this truth, therefore Islam clearly has a different and fake "god" that cannot save anyone. Islam leads to eternal torment in the lake of fire.
And the truth is that only the BIBLE is the Word of God. The "Qumran" is not from God.
Jesus loves all Muslims so very much, and Jesus wants you to get away from Islam, and instead, for you to believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation!
The TRUTH is that the ONLY WAY to get into heaven and to avoid being sent to eternal torment in hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead! Nothing else pays for any of our sins, not works, not good deeds, nothing.
And then Jesus will also give you a personal relationship with Him, which will satisfy your soul and give you true fulfillment and purpose! Nothing else can do that, no matter what you do or acquire.
Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! And the Trinity is true! Jesus is the Messiah!
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! John 3:16, John 6:47!
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).
Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!
Greetings of Peace, my friend.
You seek information concerning religion(Islam).? Feel free to email me.
Followers of many religions are at times blinded to such a point that they fail to apply logic or reason to their faith or beliefs. For example, Saint Thomas Aquinas, the most rational of Christian theologians, stopped the use of reason when it came to the basic fundamentals of Christian faith. He then tried to justify faith. So to ask "why Christianity?" is an illegitimate question. However, Allah invites the question as to "why Islam?"?We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.?3:118
Islam is a rational system which not only allows questions but raises knowledge to a new level of dignity and respect. No other religion has exalted knowledge and its pursuit, as has Islam. In fact, for the first time in human history, a religious book invited people to question the creation of the universe and stated that in it (the universe) were signs for people of understanding. ?In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are Signs for people of intelligence.?(The Final Testament,i.e.Quran,3:190-191) ?He directs the whole affair. He makes the Signs clear so that hopefully you will be certain about the meeting with your Lord.?(13: 2)
Everything in Islam is subject to rational pursuit.
Islam is an intellectual and historical religion. There are no secrets and no mysteries which cannot be understood by an ordinary person.
We should, therefore, refrain from forming particular ideology or opinion prior to witnessing clear evidence-just as Islam advises us.
The Qur'an, this extraordinary book which was revealed to the Seal of the Prophets,Muhammad (peace and blessings of Almighty be upon him), is a source of inspiration and true knowledge. ?Allah Himself is witness that there is no God save Him. And the angels and the men of learning too are witness?There is no God save Him, the Almighty, the Wise.?3:18.The book of Islam-no matter what subject it refers to-is being proved as Allah's Word as each new piece of historical, scientific or archaeological information comes to light. Facts about scientific subjects and the news delivered to us about the past and future, facts that no being could have known at the time of the Qur'an's revelation, are announced in its verses. It is impossible for this information to have been known with the level of knowledge and technology available in 7Th century Arabia. With this in mind, may we allow our common sense to speak on behalf of us awhile?
Could anyone in 7Th century Arabia have known the atomic number every single element?
Could anyone in 7Th century Arabia have known that the word "Pharaoh" was only used from the 14Th century B.C. and not before, as the Old Testament erroneously claims?
?If the sea were ink for (writing) the Words of my Lord, surely the sea would be exhausted before the Words of my Lord would be finished, even if We brought (another sea) like it for its aid.?(Quran-18:109)
Could anyone in 7Th century Arabia have known the genetic code of many living organisms?
Could anyone in 7Th century Arabia have known that the universe is "steadily expanding," as the Qur'an puts it, when modern scientists have only in recent decades put forward the idea of the "Big Bang"?
?And He shows you His signs. So, which of the signs of Allah do you deny?? 40:81
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about black holes, Pulsars, the Rosette Nebula, sub-atomic particles, quantum physics, fossilization and iron content, the layers of Earth, the weight of clouds, the relativity of Time, the Force of Gravity, the Orbital Movements, the sun?s trajectory, the programming in genes, the sun?s hydrogen and helium content, or many other facts scientists of our day are only just beginning to discover?
The only answer to these questions is thus: the Qur'an is the Word of the Almighty Creator, God. the Originator of everything and the One Who encompasses everything with His knowledge. In one verse, Allah says, "If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it." (Qur'an, 4:82) Every piece of information the Glorious Qur'an contains reveals the secret miracles of this divine book.
Indeed, there is hardly any verse in The Quran that does not contain great information about modern scientific discoveries. But we may never find all of them. It had taken 14 centuries for us to discover some of the facts that were present in The Quran 14 centuries ago. It may well take another 14 centuries to unravel all the facts in the Holy Quran. Our scientists can easily study the Quran if they want to invent modern gadgets or discover planets etc. Everything is written clearly, and much information is coded into numerals.
Islam is based on correct faith and right actions. Means are as important as the end and ends are as important as the means. It is an organic unity. Together they live and thrive. Separate them and they both decay and die. In Islam, faith cannot be divorced from action. Right knowledge should be transferred into right action to produce that right results. ?Those who believe and do good, they alone shall enter paradise.? How often these words come in the Quran? Again and again, not less than fifty times these words are repeated. Contemplation is encouraged, but mere contemplation is not the goal. Those who believe and do wrong are inconceivable. Divine law is the law of effort and not of ideals. It chalks out for the men the path of eternal progress from knowledge to action and from action to satisfaction.
Allah speaks to man through the Final Testament(i.e. Quran): ?O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So, let not this present life deceive you, and let not the chief deceiver(devil) deceive you about Allah. Surely, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy.? 35:5-6"O Man! What has seduced you from your Lord?" The practicability of the Qur'anic teachings is established. The distinctive approach of the Qur'an is that its instructions are aimed at the general welfare of man and are based on the possibilities within his reach. In all its dimensions the Qur'anic wisdom is conclusive. It neither condemns nor tortures the flesh nor does it neglect the soul. It does not humanize God nor does it deify man. Everything is carefully placed where it belongs in the total scheme of creation.
This view that Islam is easy to understand and practice, is one which is derived from the primary sources of Islam. In the Quran, Allah comforts us by continuously reassuring us that He desires for us ease not hardship, despite the seemingly formidable trials and tribulations that we may sometimes face. Our Lord says:
'God desires ease for you, and desires not hardship' (2:185);
'Truly with hardship comes ease' (94: 6);
'God will assuredly appoint, after difficulty; easiness' (65:7);
'We shall speak to him, of our command, easiness' (18:88);
'God desires to lighten things for you, for the human being has been created weak' (94:28).
We believe in the God of the theist, the God of the atheist, the God of the Jews, the God of the Christians and the God of the pagans, because whether they choose to accept divine providence or not: ?Know, therefore, that there is no God but Allah.?(47:19)
The sun rises, the sun sets, the entire Universe continues to subsist and exist by the Might, by the Power of One Allah. He is Allah. This universe- Allah alone has brought it into existence and Allah alone will keep it into existence, and this existence will not terminate on its own accord but it will terminate on the will and intention of One Allah.
We keep the absolute conviction in our hearts that each and everything that exists, whether we can see it, whether we cannot see it, whether we can perceive it, whether we cannot perceive it, whether it is within the realm of the human understanding or whether it is beyond our understanding; everything that exists is the creation of One Allah.
Nothing benefits, nothing harms, , nothing gives life, nothing gives death except with the permission of One Allah. Allah, singularly, alone controlling everything. He is the First without a beginning; he is the Last without an ending. No eyes can see Him and no mind imagine Him. Everything happens how Allah wills it to happen, it happens in the manner in which Allah wants it to happen .And that which Allah does not will, all creation in the universe can get together, they cannot bring it into existence. Not a leaf, nor a life. And most of all, not even a single verse of the Glorious Quran, A Book of Wisdom, Evidence and Knowledge, a Guide and a Mercy.
Mankind today is on the brink of a precipice, not because of the danger of complete annihilation which is hanging over its head-this being just a symptom and not the real disease-but because humanity is devoid of those vital values of peacefulness, which are necessary not only for its healthy development but also for its real progress
