Default Why, do you think, Islam has not become amazingly popular after 1400 years?

It is only popular in the relatively small Middle Eastern region where dictators use it as a control method, but in the West it is mainly regarded as a highly restrictive cult.

Can you explain?
Paki: I don't think so. You're dreaming using other people's words. I hope you don't mind me using the abbreviation 'Paki' - after all it is your user name.
I'm really sorry to disappoint you, Paki, but I don't believe in mambo jumbo, even if it IS in Arabic. I am a lapsed Christian, but I still believe in the possibility of a higher power - just not ones made up by tribal leaders.

i wouldn't agree with Islam becoming only popular in the middle east.

It is hugely popular in Asia, Africa and it is starting to lift off massively in Europe and the US

Its a global popularity Islam has achieved

Because religion is slowly dying out, quicker in the west than anywhere else. Except America, they love Jesus. But in Europe, religion is dying.

The rise of Islam offers perhaps the most impressive example in world history of the power of words to alter human behavior in sudden, surprising ways. If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam - George Bernard Shaw

Edit: I don't mind you using the term Paki. But you're in contradiction with, 'you are dreaming' and then 'using other people's words' You said it, other people's words.. George Bernard was a great intellect, and what he said a few years ago, we see today. I remember, 20 years ago it was quite rare to see Caucasian (revert) Muslims amongst us in mosques, today it is very common, and any Muslim living in the west, who goes to mosque regularly can vouch for that. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, despite the negative image of what you and the western press have/show of it in the media. I think you should become one of us too, you've made the first time by coming here, showing an interest in Islam, take the second step now too, and repeat after me... Ash HaduAllaa Ilaaha Il-Allah Wa Ash Hadu Anna Muhammadar Rasullulah ..... La Ilaha ill-Allah" and Muhammadun Rasoolullah" .. nice one.

~1.5 Billion strong. Second Largest Religion in the world, and growing. If you don't think that's popular, then clearly you don't know the definition of the word.

As per Steiner's answer, Islam is probably the most popular religion on the planet.

Are you serious?

Islam is amazingly popular. It may not be the most popular religion in the world. But I guarantee you its the most talked about the most on peoples mind religion in the world.

Islam is popular with out a doubt.
But that's not what Islam is about. Quality over Quantity any day.

It is the second largest religion, with excess of 1.4 BILLION people, that's 1.4 thousand, thousand, thousand. And you only have 10 fingers on your hand to count :P
So it is amazingly popular compared to any other religion apart from Christianity.
Christianity is roughly 600 years older, and has around 2 BILLION followers...

Islam is not only popular in the Middle East, it is growing all over the world.
There may be dictators in the Middle East, but Islam is a control method, that's what religion is! To be able to focus your life towards God. Islam controls the closeness to God, it increases it. Faith wins.
America uses false flag attacks, and alto of sexual symbolism as a control method for their people, the same in Britain. And what do you get? A rich country, maybe but a lustful country. Imo I think lust is a really bad sin, because it distracts you from God.

Have you ever read the Bible?there is exactly the same in the Bible as there is in the Qur'an with one exception.

The bible states that Homosexuals must be killed ,, the Qur'an doesn't

There's only so much hate one can spread via word of mouth and media to prevent the world from choosing Islam. When it comes down to it, the Quran is the word of God, and those who seek Him know it when they read His word.

If you would like your statement to be true, you better ban the Quran and hide the evidence it exists.

People like me read it every day and make the switch. I'd like to reassure you that I'm the only one, but I'd be lying if I did.

Islam is very popular today, and is the fastest growing religion in the world.
THE PHENOMENAL GROWTH OF ISLAM
The truth of Islam can be understood by the well-known fact that in the United States, Islam is the fastest-growing religion. The following are some observations on this phenomenon:
1.?Islam is the fastest ?growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people?? (Hillary Rodham Clinton, Los Angeles Times)
2.?Muslims are the world?s fastest ?growing group?? (The Population Reference Bureau, USA Today)
3.??Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the country.? (Geraldine Baum; Newsday Religion Writer ,Newsday)
4.?Islam, the fastest ?growing religion in the United States?? (Ari L. Goldman, New York Times).
This phenomenon indicates that Islam is truly a religion from God. It is unreasonable to think that so many Americans converted to Islam without careful consideration and deep contemplation before concluding that Islam is true. These Americans come from different classes, races, and walks of life. They include scientists, professors, philosophers, and journalists.

Islam is a religion of Peace.
We Muslims keep our Merciful Creator?s instructions in mind,as Allah tells us: ?Keep to forgiveness. And enjoin kindness?7:199. ?And do good, that happily you may prosper.?22:77. ?Peace is best? 4:128.?? and offer peace,?God gives you no excuse to fight ..." (Al-Infaal: 61). ??and do good; no doubt good doers are the beloved of Allah? 2:195. ?And speak ?with gentle speech?20:44. ??and race with one another to do good.?2:148 ?We have enjoined on man, kindness??29:8.?And do not insult?? 6:108 ?Allah orders justice and kindness..?16:90
Allah instructs us thus:
"You will not kill. God has made life sacred,?An?am:51. Our Merciful Creator has made all life sacred, whether Muslims or not. But some people/non-Muslims might say, ?God has ordered us to commit violence against non-Muslims and Muslims? and these very people shall go around committing crimes, and perhaps call themselves Muslims while engaged in criminal activities-About them Allah informs us in the Quran:?They commit a gross sin, then say, "?God has commanded us to it." We Muslims should answer with the Truth of The Quran: "God never advocates sin. Are you saying about God what you do not know?"?(Quran: Surah Al-A?Rafa: 28) . "You will not kill... These are His commandments to you, that you may understand." (6:151). And about the Quran, Allah informs us: ?Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; It is a revelation from the (Lord who is) Wise and Praiseworthy?.41:42
Islam is a religion of Peace, Love, Unity and Equality. Islam never allows violence. Quran never condones violence. And Our Lord never advocates sin. ?The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.? 20:52. "God never advocates sin. Are you saying about God what you do not know?"?(Quran: Surah Al-A?Rafa: 28)
Our Merciful Creator teaches us as denizen of the world, we are to abide by rules set by Him if we are to be His True Believers. ?If you should raise your hand against me to kill me-I shall not raise my hand against you?Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds?. 5:28
The Quran, the Final Testament, is indeed the word of our Lord, The Almighty , The Wise. ?And when Our clear verses are recited to them, the people who do not expect to meet Us say, "Bring a Qur?an other than this one, or change it"; say (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), "I do not have the right to change it on my own; I only follow what is divinely revealed to me; if I were to disobey my Lord , then I fear the punishment of the Great Day (of Resurrection).? [Quran: Jonah 10:15]
Allah, the Owner of Might and Glory, forbids Muslims from associating any partners unto Allah, and to refrain from violence:
"Whoever killed a soul not to retaliate for a soul, nor for creating disorder in the land, then it is as if he had killed all mankind. And whoso gave life to one soul, then it is as if he had given life to all mankind" (The Noble Quran: Surah Al-Mai da, Verse 32)
