why did the Quranic writers forget to mention Buddhism/Hindu/jainism and Bon?
Joe,
Then God seems to have forgot ton that Buddhism existed 1000 years before Islam
How come he forgets?
lift,
Dhull is Alexander the great. Not Buddha
iron hide,
what makes you think Islam is not man made?
Joe,
That is a wild guess. why couldn't God just write down the name Buddhism or Bon in his divine manual?
Afterall he is god right?
but why didn't the Zionist twisters of OT and NT mention those?
Edit: they are included in the categories of polytheistic STUPID!
Edit: Well becks he is God, he doesn't have to mention all the boring countless names of idolater religions, it's not a DIRECTORY..... S T U P I D ! ! !
& regarding your question, Buddhism, Hinduism were made by men & societies while the Religions of Christanity & Judaism & Islam (were in a broader sense had messengers who were divine).
I would suppose it's because they were not considered interesting enough or have sufficient real meaning to be important to the original compilers. Everyone's entitled to personal choice.
Quran is not a book of history. Apart from Jews and Christians, Quran also mentions, Zoroastrians and Sabians. Sabi, was the name used by the Arabs to define faiths other than the Abrahimic faiths. According to Quran, Sabis are the people who follow a Divinely revealed message.
Infact, there is an opinion among Muslims that Buddha, has been referred to as Dhul Kifl in the Quran.
(Further note: Dhul Qarnain is alleged to be Alexander by some scholars, but infact it is Cyrus the great, a Zoroastrian king who liberated the jews. Dhul Kifl is another name used in Quran. It is said that Buddha was born in a town called Khippal (kifl))
Quran is the word of GOD its not penned by writers..
Being Quran a complete book of guidance talks about those things that are very useful and needed ..
This is my opinion only :
Quran shows us the path of righteous and gives us a brief description with events and history.
if Quran was written with detail it would have been the biggest book in universe for Volume.. rather God wanted it to be short, easy Adan descriptive for a human mind to understand it..
Talking about other religions and their people is omitted as not to create doubts in the mind of people who read and resort to Idol worship..
First of all Quran is the word of God. There are no multiple writers.
In Quran, God mentions how he told people about the truth by his messengers. Jesus, Moses and many others were messengers of God. So he talks about them.
For other religions there is nothing to do with God. They are created by human and still some religions are continuing to be created.
That's because Muhammad was not familiar with those beliefs when he made the Koran up. He also didn't mention places like North and South America nor Australia.
Very Good point .....Islam was formed by Muhammed...and given that the only religions which he might have come across...influences etc ...were Judaism and Christanity....Hinduism,Buddhism etc were not prevalent in the Middle East ....hence his contact with them would have been minimal ......probably via some traders at the maximum ....Also only Judaism and Christanity were influential intellectual rivals in those lands .....hence it does seem logical that even if he knew ..a bit his knowledge would have been very minimal about EASTERN Religion ......and more-over people were bound to react more favorably to fables and characters which they were already accustomed to ....example the Angel Gabriel .....people were already aware of such characters and that would make him more credible and enable him to sell his religion ...........hence i think mentions of Religions Prue-dating Islam but from a Regions .....far far away from Middle East ..didn't find any mention in the Koran
The Glorious Quran does not have to mention these faiths by specific names IE: Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism etc but does refer to the concepts of God which exists in these faiths as well as the general aspects of these faiths. For instance in Hinduism Idolatry is common, the Quran speaks out against Idolatry, also Hinduism is based on a Pantheistic concept of God, the Quran in Surah Al-Ikhlas (112) http://www.harunyahya.com/Quran_translation/Quran_translation112.php shows that the concept of God is not pantheistic but purely monotheistic and in numerous places the Quran speaks of Idolaters because Idolatry is not exclusively found in Hinduism but also in a lot of other faiths including Buddhism, speaking of which Buddhism from what I know teaches that there is no God, the Quran talks of those who don't believe in God as unbelievers.
So as you can see the Quran need not mention these specific names but it does refer to the belief structures and systems found in such faiths.
