Default This is concearned to Jainism...?

Why the Jain Muni prefer to be naked even in the public? If its a part of their culture than what could be the impact of such scenario on the society.

mm. i feel degrees of clothing express different interpretations of modesty between different cultures. so... for a CoE christian woman modesty is not exposing your breasts, whereas for a Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia, modesty is about not exposing anything. is it simply that Jain do not see nudity as an immodest thing, whereas the people who view them do?

it is certainly an inter sting example of what happens when two different frameworks of truth collide.

According to Jain philosophy, the highest wisdom is associated with complete renunciation of everything. There are Jain minis who are Shvetambaras, IE, wearing white robes, and then there are Digambaras, literally "wearing the directions", meaning completely naked.

There have been Digambara minis for centuries, and I don't think it has caused any social problem. People know that only a Jain mini can be naked, and so they respect him.
