Gandhi was influenced by Jainism's principle of non-violence.

I guess Jains are a very small minority but still had an impact in some way.

They are highly honored and trusted because of their dedication to honesty; it is sacred to them. They are relied upon in the urban careers, businessmen, accountants, things of that sort but other than the fine example of honesty and integrity and extreme nonviolence, not much.
