non violence.. ..

truly that was the strength of the two religions during their early days then later turned out its weakness.

kings and warriors who took these religions refused to fight thereby losing their kingdoms

Nonviolence, and I wouldn't call this a weakness.

I identify with both these religions although they criticize each other. Gandhi used the principles of nonviolence from Jainism to passively defend and win independence for India. Martin Luther King, Jr., inspired by Gandhi, also fought with nonviolence for the civil rights movement. These are some of the contributions Jainism and Buddhism has made for the world.

So what if Jainism isn't the biggest religion in the world?

Buddhism specifically acknowledges ending suffering by ending desire.

the Buddha looked inward and found that
1) life has an unsatisfactory quality . everything is impermanent.bad things happen. good things change.all beings are subject to illness, old age, and death.
2) the cause of this dissatisfaction is clinging to the good things and trying to run away from the bad ones. trying to make things other than what they are. seeing self as the center of the universe.
3) there is a cure, and that is the really good news.
4) the cure is described as the eightfold path which includes good behavior (not for god, but for peace in your own mind stream) concentration (making the mind more useful by eliminating distractions) and wisdom (using that concentrated mind to see the true nature of self and reality)

Love god and everything through non-violence.

To me this is the essence of Buddhism and Jainism.

Jainism has three jewels to Enlightenment
Right Faith, Right Knowledge, Right conduct
They believe in Liberation of the Soul to Sidha Loka. Buddhism believes that they will emancipate when all souls reach that highest plane. But there are 3 paths in Buddism. Do research. Buddha was a Jain , founded The Middle Path. Jainist path very demanding very Pure, originally known as Nigranthas, 24 great Tirthankaras teachers came to earth over a vast period of time .The last two historical figures.Mahavir the last, 500years be for Jesus. Nonviolence to all sentient beings they both share
