So we now know Buddha was a prophet of Allah. Now, was Mahavira- founder of Jainism-
Mahavira is the 24Th Tirthankar of Jainism. I think all 24 Tirthankars might have been prophets. Agree?
I suggest we use the same standards for Jainism's prophets that we used to discover prophet Buddha. This will now give us 25 Indian prophets of Islam.
Zakir Naik's good at this, but I'm going to try beat him in discovering the long-lost prophets.

Zakir Naik proved Buddha was a prophet. I saw this statement in a Muslim's answer to someones question on Buddhism.
It's not impossible that he wasn't a Prophet. Who knows for sure?
Allah says,
Al-Nisa' Chapter 4 : Verse 165
And We sent some Messengers whom We have already mentioned to thee and some Messengers whom We have not mentioned to thee - and to Moses Allah spoke at great length
So certainly there are Messengers of Allah whom He has not told us about.
u can't say that Buddha is a prophet ,Cox we have no evidence from the holy QURAN or from Sunnah
the same goes with Mahavira
actually , we know about 25 prophets not all
what i want to say is ,people shouldn't talk without evidences
@Asker , our sources r QURAN and Sunnah , what makes Zakir Naiz right ,can u give me from where did he get his claim
ALLAH(Set) and Muhammed (pbuh) never mentioned any thing about Buddha even with a attributive
Doc Zakir Naik can't know about unknown Prophets. If Allah had wanted to tell us, he would have told us. You'll never be able to find out until the last day
It is true that we do not know the names of all the Prophets (Ra) that Allah (SWT) sent to His people over the times but we do know one thing, in that their message from Him was always the same. Such as the same laws and so forth.
According to my research Buddha gave no such message, nor does he follow the same laws, so he cannot be a Prophet of Allah (SWT). The same for every other religion that does not follow the laws given within Judaism, Christianity (Old Testament) and the Glorious Qur'an.
I do not know of this Zakir Naik, nor will I agree to Buddha being a messenger of Allah (SWT) when his message goes against Allah (SWT)'s wishes. Any Muslim who considers this to be a fact must carry out their own research and look closely at the facts.
Many Muslims within the Indian continent are slowly following Buddhism as being a branch of Islam and have started to associate both. One of Buddhisms teachings is "The Existence Spirit that resides in the zero world is the source/origin of the first ever appearing three fundamental forces namely Hetero, Homo and Neutro". This one small fact associates others with Allah (SWT) and which goes against the fundamental beliefs of Islam.
You choose what branch of Islam you want too but if a Muslim follows this form of teaching, then they are lost.
who said that? I'm not a Muslim scholar or anything but I don't think this is so. if it was true it would've been bigger news, don't you think. we should stay with the prophets we have that were mentioned in the Qumran.
