Default Is Jainism really atheistic?

In Jainism, God is the supreme manifestation of human excellence. A liberated soul, that of a prophet is God. Now this "liberated soul" perhaps includes Jesus, Buddha, Mahaveer, and may be one day you too. But when this soul is liberated then it has no contact whatsoever with earth. Buddha can't hear us or see us. Remember Jainism does not speak of a creator god. So is Jainism atheistic?
Oh dear. You didn't blink did you: Yep. That sounds about right

Well, there's the whole belief in the soul, so nope. Not atheistic. Just a different take on religion.

If I'm understanding you correctly, then Jainism doesn't make a qualitative distinction between 'God' and people; 'God' is a state (or process???) which we can all attain.

Perhaps it's best to see this as a combination, there is a 'God' yet there isn't. I fear that the dualism worldview we've inherited via Christianity is overly limiting.

some sects of Hinduism (like Charvaka) does not believe in God.They are called "Nastik".But it different from western definition of atheist ...

Similarly for Jainism.Though according to your logic most of the Hindus will be atheist .
and In Jainism there is both hell and heaven

Personally I dint feel that any of these - Budhdhism, Jainism etc are atheistic.A few words misunderstood here and there do give rise to definitions and classifications. But feeling or experience is required to know the essence of words
Not only a liberated soul but each soul- you and me too is the part and parcel of divinity and hence sufficiently God himself (as far as words can describe). The source is to be discovered in each path..that source alone is the truth and all rest is falsity ..Identifying that everything is the source itself is awareness and the source is one - the one who people call the creator or the lord
Any spiritual path pursued is pursuing THE SOURCE or THE ONLY TRUTH..If there is anything that IS it is God
The only thing is that some call it the "self" and some call it "God"
taking a different initial approach and outlook doesn't change the fact that its God that you are realizing or trying to realize
That which the yogis etc realize and aspire for is the "Avictor" aspect of the Lord and that which they want to achieve is sadhu or union with God. Unless that is not achieved perfectly , liberation cant be achieved
atonement to the source or uniting with him/it can alone perfect the being
The eyes and ears of Budhdha are everywhere..only that they are not the mortal ones

Depends how you define God and whether you disbelieve that definition. Which definitions are you disbelieving in ?

1) God is everything. The whole universe is a part of God.
2) God is external to the universe and created it.
3) God is the consciousness of the universe.
4) God is the sum total of all enlighten beings.
5) God is an immortal ancient being guiding the human race to evolve to be their equal.
so on and so on.....................

Your description sounds Deistic if you look up Deism, they believe in a creator God but that God does not interfere with life and the universe . So from my perspective it is not atheism by the common definition. Since atheists reject all concepts of God not just creator gods.

As soon as you believe in any being that is not quantifiable by science then it can be argued that you are not an atheist.
