There was another religion in India which eventually merged into Buddhism and Jainism
No. Not quite Hinduism.
I am not sure but I think the name started with A if I remember correctly.
Nevermind. I found it. It was called Ajivika. You lot can still tell me about it if you like
You will find that Hinduism was the 'original'; it spawned Buddhism and Jainism in about 500 BC.
"Three major movements underpinned the nuisance of a new epoch of Hindu thought: the advents and spread of Upanishadic, Jaina, and Buddhist philosophic-religious thought throughout the broader Indian landmass."
[edit]
It seems Ajivika came into existence (again - from Hinduism) at about the same time as Jainism and Buddhism.
