Hinduism- Souls are fragments of god, that are purified through life (people do good things, then die) and the soul is reincarnated until they achieve full purification. Moksha is when the soul, or Atman, is reunited with Brahman- God (dispute popular belief, Hinduism is monotheistic)

Budhisms soul theory is basically that souls are purified through knowledge and enlightenment. (citation needed)

Christianity's soul theory is that God gives us a soul and crafts us in his image. The person is given free will, and live their life. If they live a good life, they go to paradise, or heaven. If they are about even, they go to purgatory, where a soul must work off its sins. Then there's hell, and that's where the bad ones go.

Jainism is, no of fence, a minority, and therefore was not apart of my studies! sorry

Actually Hindus believe the soul is a part of God and will one day perfect itself to the point of merging with God.
Buddhists do not believe in a soul but in 5 aggregates
Jains believe that every living thing has a soul
Christians believe that God gave each man a soul to use it well. However evil souls that believe in Jesus go to heaven, perfect, pure moral souls that do not believe in Jesus go to hell.

Soul energy is soul energy. There is no theory.
Just look around you ,at people, they are what they are .They embrace what they are & become what they are.
Some never wake up while others do.Some wake up a little but so many wander in darkness, the blind leading the blind. Many know not how dark is dark for they have nothing to compare and so a little leaven eleventh the whole but with no leaven what do they imagine to hope for or have faith in.
As your Being is so is the energy soul light within you. Deception belongs or being awake is the soul energy. God seeks to save the lost
and we are mostly the lost soul energies and the Holy Spirit is hopefully our guide.<>Hope ,faith & Love but the greatest of these is Spiritual Love.

Theory?? Maybe hypothesis. You are trying to make that doctrine sound as well thought out and as confirmed by systematic observation as evolution. No way!

Hinduism- Atman- self is a part of Brahma, separated and confused. The goal is to re-merge with the Godhead. It is reborn as either humans or animals and maybe demons or demigods until it reaches this goal.

Buddhism - Anatman- overtly stated denial of the Atman. Consciousness is the Buddha-nature (stated in the Surangama Sutra). Awarenesses of sensory inputs rise within it. All that we know, all that we think of as our "self", are these awareness es ("dramas", or "quail"). So we attribute to our "soul" characteristics that are reflections of the body. The mistaken impression of continuity between various stages of our lives also carries over from the last life and to the next life, but many modern Buddhists who have been listening to the Christians don't accept this.

Jainism- No info. I pass.

Christianity- the "soul" is eternal, made by God for one use only. It will exist forever in eternal torment if it was evil, or boredom if it accepted Jesus. The relationship between mind and soul is never made clear.

soul 'theory' as u say it i think is very extensively defined in Hinduism CZ i m a Hindu. its not so basic that anyone can write it in this yahoo answer. plus i dunno about Jainism. and as far as my knowledge goes Christianity doesn't really have a soul theory. but i think answer to your question is in Buddhism soul goes up or down one level after each birth. but Hinduism says u can be born in any species according your action cumulative of your last births.
