Yes... Been to the jain temple in rajasthan
they believe literally that all life is sacred - even bugs ants creepy crawlies etc. Etc. And they sweep the ground before they walk so they don't walk and kill a relative who happened to re-incarnate as an ant...

Jainism is a form of religion which originated in India in 6Th century BC. Its founder was Mahavir or Vardhaman.

It is an extreme form of non-violence as a result it advocates vegetarianism. So much so that some of them cover their mouth with a cloth so as not to ingest an organism by accident.

They also avoid eating something that grows underground like potatoes, onions, garlic etc.

I could be wrong but I think when they die they put the bodies in a big structure and let the rats and crows eat the flesh then grind up the bones ...something about not letting the body or something touch the earth...they may throw the powder into a river of something...
