Default Isn't the Jainism one of the best religion to follow?

Jainism has got written history of millions of years... It cares for each and every living creature...Physically doing is far away, even thinking of any kind of crime is not allowed in this religion... Those who have understood 1% of jainism , he would think thousand times before commiting any crime...Non violence and thruth is the heart of this ideology.. along with that there are many important things which are told in it e.g. tatwarthsutrya(how one should lead his life), niyamsar(Rules),samayasar, ratnatraya(samyak darshan, samyak gyan, samyak charitrya), thushdarma( 10 holly characters: kshama[forgiveness], arjaw[cleaness of mind],mardav[softness], satya[truth], shouch, sayaam[self control], tap[penance], tyag[renunciation], bramchaya[celibacy], akinchanya[non attachment]) ..... this is Indian continents Most oldest religion followed which has no origin no end.. some people have taken lord Mahveera as founder of Jainsm ,ITIS INCORRECT, He was 24th and last current thirthankara. 1st thirathankar(Adinath/vrushabhnath) was born 77 lakh years before who taugh human being the languages for communication[masi], trade[vitta],farming[krushi], weapons[asi] for safty as his time kalpavruksha went back to heaven and people were not knowing how to lead their life......

world has not been exposed to Its huge and very old written ideology

I DONT SAY JAINISM IS THE ONLY CORRECT RELIGION TO FOLLOW , but one things is true jainism is the base of humanity.
if you are following jainism you are away from all the prohibited things mensioned in any other religions like hinduism, islam, christanity....

Its considers all the souls EQUAL errespective of its shape or size or state

Jain is not one who born in jain family, it is a soul which follow jainism

Its the only idealogy which can give you freedom from birth and death (Moksha)

Yes, it's one of the most peaceful religions

But it's always better to be rational

My personal feeling is that while there isn't anything especially wrong with Jainism, it is a bit silly.

However:

"Jainism has got written history of millions of years... "

Is just a lie. Modern humans have only been around about 200000 years, so who was recording the history millions of years ago?

I don't necessarily agree that Jainism is factually correct, but I have more respect for its beliefs than most other religions.

Jainism is very peaceful, it's true, but the writings are not 'millions of years old'. The teachings are 3000 years old at a push, although they may claim to be older (as all religions seem to do). The reason I don't follow Jainism is because the metaphysics of karma and the soul taught in Jainism contradicts what I believe to be true from science.

The concept of karma taught in Buddhism, however, is not at odds with science and Buddhism teaches that there is no soul.

Buddhism (and Jainism) teaches ahems.

You are right in saying there is no 'right religion'. Religions are like rafts used to get people from the shore of ignorance to the shore of unbinding, enlightenment, nibbing, Misha, [insert perfection of being here]. If Jainism helps you, GREAT! It is indeed a good path to follow. For me, Buddhism works.

I'd met some Jains in USA and learned about their Faith here.

I must say that I found them very gentle folks and that they take the principle of "Ahimsa Paramo Dharma" to the extreme. My Hindu friends here respect them and say that their belief in "Non-Violence is the First Tenet" [for which I'd given the Sanskrit before] is something remarkable.

I would find it very hard indeed to turn the other cheek, even though Jesus did tell us to do that. I'd most probably just say "Lord, forgive me for what I'm about to do." and kick the $h1t out of the jerk who tries that; so, I've got to say that if someone is capable of suffering violence done to him or her silently and not strike back just because they believe they'd hurt the one doing them harm, ... well, that's admirable while being just plain stupid.

I also found their "Principle of Light" where they do not eat anything that grows in darkness rather fascinating. However, while I do try to use as much of vegetables as I can, I'm a bit too partial to a good steak and couldn't be like them, all the time.

On the whole, though, I do find them a very gentle and beautiful people.

All the best.

It is similar to Buddhism ? Why does not Buddhism mentions of this if it was that old ?
However the numbers that you mention are difficult to accept. Such as 30000 years old history. May be 3000.
Any way much better than the religions that teach to kill one another to propagate their religions.

1. Why to define Jainism better, as it targets on killing only plants and not animals ?
What if every person on earth goes vegetarian ? - there is surely going to be a scarcity for food, and just in case if there happens to be a consecutive year of failure of crops for some reason ( global famine or drought ) - where does caring for animals goes ?? - you should finally have to harvest animals unless you are ready to die of hunger.

2. Can Jainism be practiced all over the world ?

Imagine the climatic extremes in Tundra ND the Sahara deserts, people living there just cannot depend on staple diet, they NEED fat and animal-proteins to survive, Jains in Tundra or Sahara won't last for a year.

3. Moksha is not likely a logical concept ( Recycling of Souls ), If Moksha is True, then probably Human population has to be constant, evidently it is increasing every year, and according to re-birth concept - If a person sins, he will be born again as an animal, evidently there is increasing amount of crime and unrest, but we see instead than Human Population is being exponentially rising in contrast to animals, to make a point almost most species are going extinct every decade.

Jainsim, Can be a Religion -- Good at a particular place (with boundaries) and Selected Group of people, It cannot apply to Everyone/Everywhere.

Hope my point of view was not offensive, thanks.

Jainism was once a very popular religion in India. That was until it was persecuted institutionally by Hindu kings.

Yes its just one of those things that our history book keeps conspicuously quiet about, much like the Muslims atrocities toward Hindus.

All religions are based on humanity first of all. So no religion is above any other since it is like all paths lead to supreme god.

Secondly the credit goes to Hinduism since Jainism is born out of
Hinduism. All the philosophy etc came from Hinduism. The founder itself is Hindu. No religion goes for bloodshed etc .

Buddhism and Jainism came from Hinduism and now are regarded as
separate religions but their ideas are from Hinduism.
Moksha is not easy to attain. It is not a one life birth process.
The period in which 2 new religions took birth was Buddhism and Jainsim. Hinduism is a root or foundation and all these 2 religions are
the branches of Hinduism.

Regarding committing crimes then I would say that not all are innocent.
One cannot say that all Jains are innocent or do not commit crimes.
Some maybe good .

Christianity is also based on 10 commandments and if a true christian
really follow them then he would never commit crime.

Bhagvadgita is not only a holy book but all the facts about
spiritual life etc are mentioned.
It is a ocean in a nutshell.
Each religion has their scriptures etc and to compare them is a
folly first.
