Two religions originated in India. They are based on nonviolence and vegetarianism. Jainism came first around 500-600 BC and had 24 thinkersKARseparableBel prophets), the last of which was Mahaveer, who was the direct inspiration to Gandhi. Jainism didnt spread beyond India, because it refused to allow its followers to consume meat. The highest order of its monks go naked, as they cannot even possess clothes. They eat only once a day and sleep on the floor and cannot climb any vehicles, so have to travel on foot. They ddont have any churches or political powers. Their survival entirely depends on the devotees.

Buddhism came second and was founded by Siddhartha aka Guatama Buddha. You can find details easily on Wikipedia.

I have seen very few atheists pick on these religions, since they never have oppressed other religions and the followers actually follow the religion.

Seriously? Have you even read the Holy Bible?

Just because people claim to be a certain religion doesn't mean anything.

Good Luck!

That is easy! Satan. The purpose is to deceive as many people as possible to the final death.

Jainism is an ancient religion of India that prescribes a path of non-violence towards all living beings. Its philosophy and practice emphasize the necessity of self-effort to progress the soul towards divine consciousness and liberation. Any soul that has conquered its own inner enemies and achieved the state of supreme being is called Jina (Conqueror or Victor).

Buddhism is a religion and philosophy encompassing a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices, largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha (P?li/Sanskrit "the awakened one"). The Buddha lived and taught in the northeastern Indian subcontinent sometime between the 6Th and 4Th centuries BCE.[2] He is recognized by adherents as an awakened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end suffering (or Gurkha), achieve nirvana, and escape what is seen as a cycle of suffering and rebirth.
