Default Jainism and non violence. How far it is practical and rational with their belief?

Why the top saints of DamaraAract of Jain religion are always seen with the securities/guards with them?

I have heard of them that they are the utmost followers of non-violence in the world (the only religion in the world who boast of this belief), who also takes care of germs at the most as part of their religious activities.

My question is, what this gives us an impression when they are always found with commandoes having latest killing equipments with them, standing just behind them. The time when they teach others the importance of non-violence and a lot of public lectures wherein they dream of world which is free from these instruments.

Although they are always in criticism because of its nude practice and they called this a social.
