Philosophical quotes are not be confused with scientific facts. What probably the religion meant was referring to self and the objects around it.

No. Not only Jainism but almost all religions Christianity, Muslim and others say (or said at some point in history) that earth is flat & is at the center of universe and other planets / stars move around earth.
First point is definitively false. Regarding rotation around someone can say that it is relative movement! But again seeing the larger part of solar system / universe we can say that it is the earth that is moving.

sorry I don't know what Jainism says.
but I am sure that earth is totally not flat it is spherical in shape
and it is a planet revolving around the sun which is a star like others, twinkling in night. also there is nothing in science which gives any idea about mere. but it is true that sun is part of galaxy.

are u satisfied now?

It depends on how you see it. From a Newtonian point of view, no it isn't. From a spiritual point of view it is. So you just have to chose your system of reference

Earth is blood-spherical in shape. Observe eclipses to see the shape of our earth.
From satellite pictures and also by observing night sky, it is easy to prove that sun (and not earth) is at center of our solar system.

I have no opinion regarding religious beliefs I know nothing about, but per your question, physics and gravity would not allow a flat planet. The fact that we don't fall off the edge of it when travel ling to the other side of it I think proves this one. Also, the earth's rotation has been viewed and recorded by astronauts that have visited it. I have never heard of Meru, but in our galaxy, the planets rotate around the sun. Perhaps the value of the belief in the earth being flat has nothing to do with physical perception, but with some other ancient meaning.

hi. look most of the religions have their beliefs and theories, it is on you that what you believe, a myth or a scientific reason.earth is sphere and is rotating around the sun. Sun and other planets are the part of our solar system and they are again the part of galaxy which is itself rotating. we must learn to respect our religion but not to accept its wrong assumptions. OK.

Hi, Really I don't know whether the Earth if flat or concave or convex, and neither on whether the sun and moon rotate the Meru par vat (mountain). (But will tell you later from some concrete source).

Yes but I can assure that according to Jainism the Meru Parvat (Mountain), is the cent re of the universe (Jambudweep, as known in Jainism). This universe is divided into some 4 - 8 parts (not sure, will Clari later). We are living in Bharat Kshetra (region), which is to south from Meru Parvat (mountain). So, Meru Parvat lies in north direction for us. It is said that in the current time cycle nobody can reach at mount Meru.

Some people may ask that why can't we see Mount Meru if it's really there. Here another question arises, that how far our Human eyes can see?

If you stand on top of the highest building, how far can your eyes can see, there is some limit upto the distance our naked eyes can see. So in the same manner mount Meru is at such farther distance that we can neither see it, nor can we reach there because it would take ages to reach there.
