Those who truly know Islam know it's not the religion which is violent, it's some of the followers.
How come no one complains about the Christians (Catholics and Protestants) who spent 30 years during The Troubles in Northern Ireland blowing each other all to hell?
Jainism is pretty peaceful, but I think Christianity is more violent.
Islam is contained. The trouble it causes originates almost entirely within the confines of the Middle East.
Christianity, on the other hand, is a global death machine. It's been around longer, it's infected more areas of the world, it's killed more people, and it CONTINUES to kill people to this day.
Take a look at that. A Christian terrorist group that's killed 1,000 people since Christmas.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Catholic guerrillas murder people in South America, missionaries rape and pillage all over Africa and Asia, and in America they have been slowly stripping away our civil liberties and crushing our education system. Not to mention the on-going hate crimes - blowing away doctors who perform abortion, assaulting gay people, protesting at funerals, etc etc etc.
The Muslims are nuts, but they're a drop in the ocean compared to the vast amount of evil that Christianity has brought into the world.
For one, a Jainist can't be self-consistent while claiming Jainism condones violence. It's just not a theologically defensible position in Jainism. However it's quite possible to be a self-consistent Muslim and claim Islam condones violence. I've personally read theologically defensible Muslim texts that claim Islam condones violence.
No, I do not agree. There are no violent religions, only extremist people who can take anything too far. Christ taught us to love one another, yet there are Christians who preach hate and lies to incite violence against others. Look at Fred Phelps.
i disagree.
all religions can be twisted for personal gain, or in most cases, used by the elders to feed their young ones their agenda...
but maybe all religions can agree on the concept that Jesus gave.
he said that on judgment day, he would separate two groups of people..
take note, he never said "Christians and non Christians"
he simply said the sheep and the goats.
those who
"when i was hungry, you gave me food.
when i was thirsty , you gave me drink.
when i was sick, you cared for me
when i was in prison, you visited me"
the sheep
and the goats...
"when i was hungry, you gave me no food.
when i was thirsty , you gave me no drink.
when i was sick, you did not care for me
when i was in prison, you did not visit"
God cares more about inviting people who are capable and willing to love others... if there is indeed a benevolent being, I can see no reason why this wouldn't be his desire.
Sort of, but our take on Islam is very biased towards recent events.
Almost all religions have terrorist factions who are prepared to carry out terrible atrocities in the name of their cause. Even Buddhists are plagued by the NKT terrorists.
Islamic extremists are more newsworthy at the moment, but Christian extremists have spread terror around the globe for the last few centuries. The victims of a terror attack will always feel that their attackers are the worst, which is why Americans assume Islam is a violent, evil, religion.
No monotheistic religion can ever be truly peaceful. They all demand that people who do not follow their dogma are punished in one way or another.
NO NO NO AND NO
Islam is not the most violent religion
there are a lot of other religion that can be a lot more violent
there are only a few Muslim terrorists in the world
all the rest are good and peaceful
to me every body that thinks Islam is the most violent is crazy
i think Islam is the most peaceful religion
Yes of course, the thing is MAJORITY of Muslims are evil its my experience, the world would be better off without that religion. As far as I know Qur'an has some very graphic explanation how to kill an unbeliever. Only a small fraction of Muslims are very peaceful.
