Default any suggestions about a topic for a paper I am doing in my Classical Jewish History C

I have to pick a topic from the time of Ezra/Nehemiah to the establishment of the Sanhedrin at Yavneh

My first thought was to do it on the war of the Maccabes, but that seems too over done. My next thought was to analyze the works of Josephus, but that seems far beyond the scope of my paper.

Now I am leaning to studying the development of either the Samaritans or the Sadducees during this time and maybe even after.

Any more Ideas and suggestions would be helpful and insightful
yeah the Essenes fit in that time frame it just that what ever I will discuss about them will revolve around the dead sea scrolls and I am sure plenty of people will write about that

Write about they're Calendars. They used.

Inca & Aztec Calaendars.

In the light of everything said today this is such an important question. I have read the book The Fingerprints of the Gods. It's a tremendous volume and it covers the Inca and Aztec calendars, both ending on December 25Th, 2012. Now, what could it mean? When they talk about the end of the world, as far as the Incas and Aztecs are concerned, they don't mean the end of the world because they have five endings and one of them was Noah's experience with the flood. It didn't end the world. Furthermore, as you know and as I?vie said already in this program, the world is never going to end, Isaiah 45:17 and Ephesians 3:21. So what could it mean?

Oh, I'm excited. In Matthew 1 verse 17 it lists 42 generations from Abraham to Christ. 42. Historically, that covers 2,160 years. Divide 42 into that number and you come out to 51.4 years. What's the countdown? Jerusalem being taken by the Jews, for Jerusalem starts the seven-year period of tribulation, Daniel 9:24. Add 51.4 to 1967 and you come out to 2018. But I just saw this, this week: you add the extra six months because it happened in June of '67 and the 4/10 and you come out to 2019 and take away the 7 from that and you come out to 2012.

Could it be on Christmas day Jesus Christ would come at that moment? We don't know the day and hour, Matthew 24:36, but Jesus commands us to know when it's near even at the door.

I'm not dogmatic on this, but could this be the thing that's going to be revealed through the Inca and Aztec's calendars?

Come, Lord Jesus.

God Bless You.

Okay,I'll admit I'm a little weak on Jewish history, but do the Essenes fit into this time frame?I always thought it was strange that Judaism, which is a mystical religion anyway, would have a sect that was even more Mystical.

Oh, if that were me, I'd definitely do the development of the Samaritans! I think that is one of the most interesting subjects from that time!

If you do choose to do that, I want to see your end result! Sounds interesting!

Best of luck on your paper!

I agree with Heron. Find out about the Samaritans. I'd find that very interesting.

I find it fascinating that God called Cyrus by name in Isa 44:28 before he was even born!

Who says of Cyrus, ?He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure, Saying to Jerusalem, ?You shall be built,? And to the temple, ?Your foundation shall be laid.??

I was told that Daniel brought the Isaiah scroll and showed it to Cyrus and that was so awesome to Cyrus that he gave the OK to return to the land and rebuild the temple under Ezra.

I never tire of hearing about it. It is so awesome a prophecy.
