Default Jews! Why did jesus reject his jewish faith?

I understand why Jesus is not the messiah. I was wondering why would anyone claim to be YHWH. I don't even get why Jesus told his Jewish people to go against their faith...who is this person?

Jesus did not reject His faith, His faith rejected Him.

He modified the faith, not rejected it.

You should study instead of talk.

He didn't reject his Jewish Faith. He was very much a Jew. He rejected the lack of spirituality that was occurring, but not the tradition. He never claimed to be YHWH. He said that YHWH was his father... just as YHWH is all of our fathers' - no matter what religion you practice or don't. YHWH is the male creative force. Elohim is the female creative form. This is Kabbalah - which I believe is the focus of Jesus' ministry.

Jesus did not go against His faith. See the Passion movie and learn what happened. Mel Gibson directed it.

He never did because he wasn't Jewish. A Jew can only be a Jew if the mother is Jewish. As he was not born as we know, only an "immaculate conception" and Mary wasn't Jewish anyway, how can he disregard a faith which he never belonged to or was born in to.

Jesus died a Jewish man. He was never Baptised and he was never Christian. Christianity didn't come around until several years after Jesus died. SEVERAL years. He never told other Jewish men and women to go against their faith, quite the opposite, he was trying to spread the word of "God" to the nation he lived in.

I'm not Christian, but at least understand something before you denounce it.

Because of the Hypocrisy it demonstrated.
He never rejected the Law, he came to fulfill it.
It was very obvious to all that his faith was focused on the source of his creation rather than in the institutions and leaders who professed to act as an intermediary.

Matthew 23:
1Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5"Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'

8"But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.[b] 11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.[c]

Jesus did not reject His faith. He is the Messiah and Jehovah and Yesuah (however you spell that) He is my Father and Saviour and Lord and God. Anything that He did do was for a reason. Things in our world need to be fulfilled before God can fulfill His prophecy. That's all I got to say about that!
Also Jesus was Baptized by John the Baptist.

He did not reject his faith. He fulfilled the Law of Moses.
All of the prophets before Him spoke of Him. The reason you have a hard tome understanding why He did what He did is because you have no true understanding of who He is or what He has done for you.

I'm not Jewish, but from what I have learned, Jesus was not happy with the way JEWS had dishonored the temple and remained with the old ways of sacrificing animals in the temple. Jesus was trying to save them from the old ways, the ways preached in the Old Testament, where you can read about sacrifices on the alter, spilling of blood, etc. Jesus, was trying to explain that these were no longer acceptable, the Jews opposed him and thus rebuked him.

Edited: I agree with Calhoun--he was trying to modify the temple from the old ways---hence the reason why God sent him as messenger to change these old ways.

Jesus didn't reject his faith. He spoke and taught against the abuses and hypocrisy he saw going on. Jesus never claimed to be YHWH. Jesus claimed to be the "son of Man."

WHAT!? Jesus did NOT reject his Jewish Faith! If he had, there is no way he could have taught in the temple. It would have been the perfect excuse for them to throw him out and stone him to death from the very first day IF he had taught contrary to the Torah.

Wake up, and study a Bible sometime. But I guess if you're a Muslim from the Middle East, Bibles are illegal for Muslims aren't they.

You do error. Jesus did not claim to be YHWH (no-where in the bible does it say this-its a Trinity teaching that some believe . He claimed t be the Son-the promise Messiah (also the son of man). Jesus did not forsake the Jewish laws-but put them back to the way they were suppose to be (yep that's in there too). He challenge the Pharisees with their doctrines and traditions. In doing so -a new (but not new) faith began. Than he made a 'New covenant'(replacing the old) with those who accepted him. Just so you understand this teaching.

You need a little more information at your disposal.
1.Jesus was the promised Messiah.
2. He did claim to be the Messiah
3.He did not tell his people to go against their faith. He claimed that He came to fulfill not destroy. Check out below

He was little "out there" and obviously angry with the corruption he saw in the official institutions of the day, but Jesus lived and died as a practicing orthodox Jew. And told his Jewish followers to keep all the commandments.

You believe that the New Testament is an accurate portrayal of what really happened 2000+ years ago. That is your mistake.

he didn't!! Jesus just tried to revise Judaism and form his own kind of Judaism- something that wasn't unheard of then OR now!! reform, conservative, mast- those are all kinds of revised Judaism nowadays (meaning, not like the traditional Judaism...). Jesus himself was a Jew!!! he died as a Jew!!! (proof: his last meal ever- before being crucified BY THE ROMANS- was the Jewish Passover Seder). his followers are the ones who started Christianity and proclaimed him the Messiah. historians don't even think that Jesus meant to start a new religion!!
he did NOT reject Judaism!!

wait a minute Jesus didn't reject anything he was 1 of over 100,000 people crucified by the Romans who pretty much ruled the world at that time

Christianity started nearly 200 years later
they just used Jesus as an excuse
eventually emperor Constantine used Christianity as a key to keep the roman empire together
