I'm sure you can find Jews who believe in ghosts but it's not really a part of the religion.

Yes, it's part of the folklore. But "Ghost" with Demi Moore doesn't mean people really believe in ghosts -- although some do..

Watch the movie A Fiddler on the Roof for one of the most charming ghost stories I have ever seen. I assume that as Fiddler on the Roof was based on stories written by a very talented author, Shalom Aleichem, the pseudonym of a Jewish man, they must have some belief in ghosts.

There are a great fraction of Jewish theist who agree that ghost exist. Considering the story of the witch of Endor summoning the ghost of Saul and God's rejection of Israelites being guided from witches. It is real. So is the idea of UFOs, ESP and other paranormal activities. Some of these abnormalities in the Hebrew Bible is described as part of God's glory. They are not proof of a after-life. That idea doesn't exist in Torah, or it isn't described to give a actual detailed understanding of where the spirit returns. In Judaism the spirit does not return to God. The soul is what returns to God. The soul is separate of the spirit. It was Saul's spirit that was left behind not his soul. Body, Spirit and Soul are the 3 things God created mankind of. They are interconnected but distinct.

The other answers in this question are lacking what you are asking. They keep using Rabbinical Talmud to rebuke ghost. But are not answering your question of, Do Jewish People believe in the concept of Ghost or Spirits? They keep quoting Leviticus and Talmud which condemns one who consults a ghost and are not showing one how the Jewish believed Ghost "existed". Orthodox Jews are always angry and are always taking people(s) questions out of context.

No not really at all. There's very little said in Judaism about afterlife anyway. It's not a focus of the religion.

There isn't any mention of ghosts or spirits in the religion. Except maybe the idea of the spirit of Eliajh coming to everyone home on Passover, & showing up in the form a beggar (so when you help the poor you never know who you're helping . ) But those are more tales told, not wrapped in the general theological concepts of the religion.

I'll star & see what others know.

Sirus is a Hebrew Israelite, a Christian black group that claims to replace Jews, which makes them an incredibly poor source on what Jews believe .
(Edit: Sirus - I didn't mention Talmud, nor am I remotely Orthodox, nor did I mention anger. I do now understand all the TDs to a perfectly reasonable answer on Judaism, you & multiple accounts?)

Rabbit is an antisemitic. Whenever you read his stuff it turns out to be nonsense & nothing like how he misreads it. I can't be bothered undoing all his lies every time he posts.

Yes, Jews believe in souls, Jews must believe the dead will be raised, otherwise they have no place in the "World to Come"

Jews believe in the "Demon of the Privy"

Babylonian Talmud Soncino Edition: Gittin 70a
http://www.halakhah.com/gittin/gittin_70.html

"On coming from a privy a man should not have sexual intercourse till he has waited long enough to walk half a mil, because the demon of the privy is with him for that time; if he does, his children will be epileptic."

?ulak he Lurker of the bathroom.

___________

From Israel's oldster's newspaper in 2004:

"On Christmas Eve, known in Jewish circles as Nitel Night, the Klimt (shells) are in total control. The Klimt are parasitical evil forces that attach themselves to the forces of good. According to cabala (Jewish mysticism), on the night on which ?that man? - a Jewish euphemism for Jesus - was born, not even a trace of holiness is present and the Klimt exploit every act of holiness for their own purposes."

Judaism holds the traditional view that ghosts exist, but should not be consulted. The Hebrew word for ghost is oath, but a more profound word for ghost is dybbuk .
