What are the head coverings Jewish women wear whilst praying?
I have seen some women wear like a lacy head covering whilst praying at Shabbat. What are they called? And where can you get one from?
The world is not going to end on the 21st of may. I will personally send an email to on the 22ND saying "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........ HA". This question has nothing to do with the world ending so leave it out.
I don't know the technical name for those items, but I do understand what they mean. The wearing of that kind of head covering by the Jews is based on some Bible verses. Unfortunately the verses have been misunderstood partly because they are not reading the WHOLE Bible. They like to ignore The New Testament. Even The New Testament speaks of the head being covered. But the meaning is ENTIRELY spiritual. No physical covering is required to worship God or to pray. A verse that throws light on this subject is Ephesians 5:23. The head covering is only a symbol that shows the supposed submission of that person to God.
The real issue of our time is to realize that God has opened much information in the Bible showing that the end of this world is fast approaching. May 21, 2011.
Head scarves! God forbid that you might call them mantillas (definitely Roman Catholic), but of course, you can't call them headscarves, because that might be misinterpreted to mean the head covering worn by a Muslim woman or Queen Elizabeth II of England when she still rode horses.
It would appear that only married Jewish women traditionally cover their heads.
Do you mean the round kind, which looks like a lace doily?
It's usually called a "head cover"!

Sometimes it's even called a "doily":

These are mostly worn by (married) Conservative women. Reform women would probably wear nothing, or a regular kip pah:

Whereas Orthodox married women would wear something which covers more of the hair:
