Default Ramadan:: Do you realize importance of reading Torah?

Asalamualeikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuho

May you all be in good health and Oman. Ameen

Dear brothers and sisters,

The Quran says
?If they (Jews and Christians) had observed the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. Among them there are people on the right course but many of them are of evil conduct.?
(Quran, Al-Ma?DA 5:66)

Most I Islamic scholars study Torah meticulously.
It is not Torah which has been vastly changed but it is the fact that the Jews observe the Talmud a collection of sayings interpretations and abrogations to the Torah by MEN and give it a higher position than the Torah which has led them to their current state of being far from Islam.

I realize many within the ummah do not know the importance nor have ever taken the time to study or read Torah. What is your opinion on the matter?

Salams!
SEED OF TRUTH this is not the point brother. Though Quran is what we do follow as it is the final and complete book which completes our religion it is important to know our history and that which our deen has been built upon. Salaams

Yes and the Koran too but they are not as concordant as you may think; although you ll find barbarism and violence advocated in both texts, the Torah does not mention a critical part of the Moslem fairy tale -an afterlife.

To some of the Jews Talmud is far more sacred than the Torah.

Once Hazrat UMAR was reading the TORAH in the presence of ABU BAKR r .a and the PROPHET P B U H ,his face color changed upon that ,ABU BAKR r a told UMAR r.a to stop it ,UMAR r,a said is it not the word of ALLAH ? ABU BAKR r.a said look at the face of the PROPHET p b u h , THE PROPHET SAID if MOSES were in our time HE would follow the Quran ,what i brought ,according to this Hadith it is a wasting of time to read the Torah which has been modified with time and they got diverted from the truth ,hope i help ,ALLAH knows best
