Default What's Judaism's take on vegetarianism?

Same as Xtianity? More pro, or against?

Neutral, there's nothing in Judaism condemning or supporting vegetarianism.

They probably don't care. But like most of us they'd first assumed they're gay.

I'm not sure the religion has a stand on it. I know alto of Jewish Veggies, more than average maybe.

There are many Jewish vegetarians. If you haven't seen the price per pound on kosher meat you would understand why many select vegetarianism (as well as why so many Jews decide not to keep kosher.)

However, it has traditionally been viewed as being improper to abstain from meat on Shabbat. So many Jews who are vegetarian during the week, do eat some meat on the Sabbath. So, while Judaism doesn't have any definitive command against vegetarianism, the tradition is that you shouldn't practice it every day of the week.
