I was wondering if Muslim people trace there ancestry back to Abraham like Jewish peo
Okay, I am just curious...I was reading my Bible and was thinking about how God told Hagar that through Ishmael he would make a "great nation." I guess this is where the Muslim people trace their roots? So up to that point do we all think the same thing about the beginning of the world? Adam and Eve?
Okay, then I mean Arab people. Sorry....I just am wondering. I am very interested in the history of the world and what different people believe. Very interesting...
So who is Qahtan? Very fascinating. I'm going to have to read more about this. Thanks to everyone for being nice and answering my question(s).
the Arabs as a race would trace back their ancestry to Abraham. But Muslims in general and all humanity at large would trace back our ancestry to Adam n Eve.
Islam: God is One, and Humanity is One.
Regardless of race and color we are all children's of Adam and Eve.
"If it is Our will, We would have made all people into one nation" (says Allah in the Quran)
meaning, because of freewill given, men themselves caused the divisions among themselves, forgetting the roots, practicing discrimination and creating their own religions and ways, other than the One Right Path of God, Islam; 'Submission to the Will of God'.
Edit: Read more to find out it was and is the Jews the 'roots' of all the troubles and divisions in the world.
Yes...
Comforter
John 14:16: ? And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.?
We don?t know exactly the original Aramaic word used by Jesus for Comforter. Other Bibles use Consoler, Advocate, Helper, and in Greek Bibles the word Paraclete. There are different explanations for it: Holy Spirit, the Word, a person, etc.
The Holy Quran states in Surah 61:6 that Jesus explicitly mentioned the name Ahmad: ?And (remember) when Jesus Son of Mary said: ?O, children of Israel! I am the Apostle of Allah(sent ) to you confirming the Torah (which came) before me, and give glad tidings of an Apostle to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad(i.e. the second name of Prophet Muhammad, and literally it means the one who praises Allah more than others).?
Whatever the explanation is of the Comforter, we conclude that Jesus left an unfinished work and that someone was coming to complete his mission. Let us examine in the light of the Bible if this Comforter fits the character of Prophet Muhammad[PBUH]:
1.?another Comforter? :So many Comforters had come and another one was to come.
2.?that he may abide with you for ever?: as there was no need for another one to come after him , and he was the Seal of all Prophets. The teaching will abide for ever, will remain intact. In fact the Holy Quran and all his teachings remain as they were 1400 years ago.
3.?he will reprove the world of sin? (John 16:8): all other Prophets , even Abraham, Moses, David and Solomon chastise their neighbor?s and their people for sin, but not the world as Muhammad[PBUH] did. He not only rooted out idolatry in Arabia within 23-year period, but also sent envoys to Heraclius, the Sovereigns of the empires of Persia and Rome, to Najashi, the King of Ethiopia and to Muqauqis, the Governor of Egypt.
He reprimanded the Christians for dividing the Unity of God into trinity, for having raised Jesus to Son of God and God Himself. It was he who condemned the Jews and Christians for having corrupted their Scriptures, demonstrated the birthright of Ishmael[PBUH] , and cleared the Prophets from accusations of adultery, incest, rape and idolatry.
4.?the prince of the world is judged? (John 16:11). This is Satan as explained in John 12:31 and 14:30. So Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] came to chastise the world on account of judgment.
5.?the Spirit of Truth?(John 16:13). Since childhood Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] was called ?the Honest or the Truthful One? , and ?he will guide you into all truth:?? (John 16:13)
6.?For he shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak.?(John 16:13)
The Holy Quran is God?s word. Not a single word from Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] or his companions was included. The angel Gabriel read it to him, he memorized it and it was written down by his scribes.
Compare with Deuteronomy 18:18: ??and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.? This corresponds with Surah 53:2-4: ?Your companion (Muhammad) is neither astray nor being misled. Nor does he speak of [his own] desire. It is only the inspiration that is inspired.?
7.?and he will shew you things to come? (John 16:13). All prophecies of Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] came to pass.
8.?He shall glorify me? (John 16:14). Actually the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] have more reverence for Jesus[PBUH] than the Bible and Christians themselves. The following will clarify:
a.To believe in his death on the cross discredits his prophet hood according to Deuteronomy 13:5: ?And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death?? It also stamps him as accursed (May God forbid!) according to Deuteronomy 21:22-23: ??for he that is hanged is accursed of God??
b.Matthew 27:46: ??My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?? Could this not come from someone other than Jesus? Even a Non-Prophet would smile at agony as he knew that his death would win him a title of martyr. Was this not an insult to Jesus in not having faith in Allah?
c.Muslims cannot believe that Jesus could label the Gentiles as dogs and swine and address his mother with Woman, as the Holy Quran states in Surah 19:32: ?And dutiful to my Mother[i.e. Mary], and (Allah) made me not an unblessed and arrogant.? Matthew 7:6: ?Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine?? John 2:4: ?Jesus saith unto her(Mary), Woman , what have I to do with thee??
ISHMAEL NOT THE ANCESTOR OF MOHAMAMD
The following traditions demonstrate that even Muslims were unable to link Muhammad's lineage to Ishmael, going so far as to say that anyone claiming to be able to do so was a liar. This casts great doubt upon whether Muhammad was truly of the seed of Ishmael.
The next section comes from Ibn Sa?d: .. he on the authority of Ibn ?Abbas; he said: Verily the Prophet, WHENEVER he related his genealogy, DID NOT GO BEYOND MA?ADD IBN ?ADNAN IBN UDAD, then he kept quiet and said: The narrators of genealogy ARE LIARS, since Allah says: "There passed many generations between them."
Ibn ?Abbas says: The Prophet would have been informed of the genealogy (prior to Adnan by Allah) if he (Prophet) had so wished.
.. he on the authority of ?Abd Allah. Verily he recited "(The tribes of) ?Ad and Thamud and those after them; NONE SAVETH ALLAH KNOWETH THEM." The genealogists ARE LIARS.
.. between Ma?add and Isma?il there were more than THIRTY GENERATIONS; but he did not give their names, nor described their genealogy, probably he did not mention it because he might have heard the Hadith of Abu Salih on the authority of Ibn ?Abbas who narrated about the Prophet (may Allah bless them) THAT HE KEPT QUIET AFTER MENTIONING MA?ADD IBN ?ADNAN.
We begin with the statements of Ibn Kathir: There is no question of ?Adnan being of the line of Ishmael, son of Abraham, upon both of whom be peace. What dispute there is relates to the number of forebears there were from ?Adnan to Ishmael according to the various sources.
At one end of the spectrum, there is the extreme view that considers there to have been FORTY; this is the view of Christians and Jews who adopted it from the writings of Rakhiya, the clerk of Armiya (Jeremy) b. Halqiya, as we will relate.
Some authorities maintain there 30, others 20, yet more 15, 10, 9, or 7.
It has been said that the lowest estimate given is for FOUR, according to the account given by Musa b. Ya?qub, on the authority of ?Abd Allah b. Wahb b. Zum?a al-Zuma?i from his aunt, and then from Umm Salama who stated that the Prophet (SAAS) said that the line was: "Ma?ad b. ?Adnan b. Adab b. Zand b. al-Tara b. A?raq al-Thara".
Abu al-Qasim al-Suhayli and other Imams stated that the time lapse between ?Adnan and Ishmael was too great for there to have been only 4, 10, or even 20 generations between them. That, they said, was because the age of Ma?ad son of ?Adnan was twelve at the time of Nebuchadnezzar.
Abu Ja?far al-Tabari and others related that Almighty God sent a revelation at that time to Armiya? b. Halqiya telling him to go to Nebuchadnezzar to inform him that God had given him rule over the Arabs. And God commanded to Armiya? to carry Ma?ad b. Adnan on the horse al-Buraq so that they would not bear him any rancour saying, "For I shall draw forth from his loins a noble Prophet by whom I shall seal the prophets."
?Armiya did that, bearing Ma?ad on al-Buraq to the land of Syria where he grew up among the Jews who remained there following the destruction of the temple at Jerusalem. There he married a woman named Ma?ana, daughter of Jawshin unrest had quietened down and accord prevailed in the Arabian peninsula. Rakhiya, Armiya?s scribe, wrote his master's genealogy down in a document he had there which was to go into Armiya?s library; and he similarly preserved the genealogy of Ma?ad.
And this is why Malik DID NOT ENTHUSE OVER THE ATTEMPT AT TRACING GENEALOGY BACK TO BEFORE ?ADNAN.
As for Malik, God have mercy on him, he expressed disapproval when asked about someone tracing his descent back to Adam and commented: "WHENCE COMES TO HIM KNOWLEDGE OF THAT?" When he was asked about tracing back to Ishmael, he expressed similar disapproval, asking, "WHO COULD PROVIDE SUCH AN INFORMATION?" Malik also disliked tracing the genealogy of the prophets, such as saying, "Abraham son of so-and-so". Al-Mu?ayti stated this in his book.
Al-Suhayli commented also that Malik's viewpoint was analogous to what was related of ?Urwa b. al-Zubayr who is reported to have said, "WE HAVE FOUND NO ONE WHO KNOWS THE LINE BETWEEN ?ADNAN AND ISHMAEL."
It is reported that Ibn ?Abbas said, "Between ?Adnan and Ishmael there were 30 ancestors WHO ARE UNKNOWN."
Ibn ?Abbas is also reputed to have said when he traced back lines of descent as far as ?Adnan: "The genealogists have LIED. TWICE OR THRICE." And that (scepticism) is even more characteristic of Ibn Mas?ud, whose (attitude) was like that of Ibn ?Abbas.
?Umar b. al-Khattab stated, "We carry back the genealogy ONLY AS FAR AS ?ADNAN."
Abu ?Umar b. ?Abd al-Barr stated in his book Al-Anba? fi Ma?rifat Qaba?il al-Ruwah that Ibn Lahi?a related from Abu al-Aswad that he heard ?Urwa b. al-Zubayr say, "WE NEVER FOUND ANYONE WHO KNEW GENEALOGY BACK PAST ?ADNAN, NOR PAST QAHTAN, UNLESS THEY WERE USING CONJECTURE. "
Islamic scriptures itself say that Mohammad is the false prophet.
MUHAMMAD FOUNDED MOHAMMEDANISM (Islam).
#1 Mohammad says in the Qumran 39:12
YUSUFALI: "And I am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah in Islam."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
#2 MOHAMMAD FAILED THE TEST OF PROPHET HOOD, if Muhammad's Allah was true, it would have informed him about the poisoned goat, which later led to his death.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Ibn Sa'd page 249: Verily a Jewish woman presented poisoned (meat of) a she goat to the apostle of Allah. He took a piece form it, put it into his mouth, chewed it and threw it away. Then he said to the Companions: "Halt! Verily, its leg tells me that it is poisoned." Then he sent for the Jewish woman and asked her; "What induced you to do what you have done?" She replied, "I wanted to know if you are true; in that case Allah will surely inform you, and if you are a liar I shall relieve the people of you."
**PROPHET HOOD FAILED**: The question here is weather Allah told Muhammad that the goat is poisoned or not? CLEARLY NOT, as he had to put it in his mouth. Quran says "if you are true; in that case Allah will surely inform you" {Muhammad would not eat the goat and he would not die} but because allah NEVER informed him, and muhammad was a liar he ate it and he died, just as the verse says "if you are a liar I shall relieve the people of you."
After all this even if Muhammad knew that it was poisoned, and he still put it (goat) in his mouth, he committed suicide.
And if he came to know after chewing it, its nothing special as anybody would know after they chewed it, no need for special powers.
#3 Mohammedans do not have any supporting evidence to prove mohammad was a prophet (other than he being a self proclaimed prophet, with hallucinations). He has not been mentioned in either of the earlier original texts (Torah/Bible).
#4 Even if we agree that muhammad was illiterate, certain questions come up like, who wrote the quran?, if not muhammad then how did he verify what he was narrating to his biographers or his contemporaries, weather it was exactly what he wanted them to write?
#5 Muhammad forced the Arab moon god allah on everyone. I say this because, mohammad's father, A PAGAN, had the name Abdullah meaning servant of allah much before mohammad had his "revelations"
#6 Muhammad was called a liar
Muhammad informed Umar [the second Caliph], and he called the Prophet a liar. Ishaq:567.
#7 Muhammad broke oaths as he wished and advised mohammedans to do the same
If you ever take an oath to do something and later on you find that something else is better, then you should expiate your oath and do what is better." Sahih Bukhari 9:89:260
The Qur'an very clearly says of Muhammad that he performed no signs. In Surah 6.37, when Muhammad's adversaries say "Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?", Muhammad is bidden to reply merely that God could send one if he wanted to but had not done so.
In the same Surah we read that Muhammad said, "I have not that for which you are impatient" (Surah 6.57), meaning signs and wonders such as Moses had. He goes on to say that if he had had them, the dispute between him and them would have been decided long ago.
# 9 Muslims PRAY to Mohammad like he said to do:
Tirmidhi relates, through his chain of narrators from 'Uthman ibn Hunayf, that a blind man came to the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and said, "I've been afflicted in my eyesight, so please pray to Allah for me." The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Go make ablution (wudu), perform two rak'as of prayer, and then say:
"Oh Allah, I ask You and turn to You through my Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy; O MUHAMMAD (YA MUHAMMAD), I SEEK YOUR INTERCESSION with my Lord for the return of my eyesight [and in another version: "for my need, that it may be fulfilled. O Allah, grant him intercession for me"]."
