Much was hidden from the Old Testament peoples, awaiting instead the revelation of Emmanuel... God is With Us... that is to say Christ.
Matthew 13:17
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Luke 10:24
For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
After Christ's coming much was revealed to humanity that was only seen darkly.
Just as it will be for us of the New Testament when we participate fully in the unmeaning day of the Kingdom.....
1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
The New Encyclop?dia Britannica says: ?Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ?Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord? (Deut. 6:4). .?.?. The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. .?.?. By the end of the 4Th century .?.?. the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.??(1976), Microp?dia, Vol. X, p. 126.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: ?The formulation ?one God in three Persons? was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4Th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.??(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.
In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: ?Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on?the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.??(1956), Vol.?XXVII, p. 294L.
According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, ?The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. .?.?. This Greek philosopher?s [Plato, fourth century?B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity .?.?. can be?found?in all the ancient [pagan] religions.??(Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. Lach?tre, Vol. 2, p. 1467.
John L. McKenzie, S.J., in his Dictionary of the Bible, says: ?The trinity of persons within the unity of nature is defined in terms of ?person? and ?nature? which are G[ree]k philosophical terms; actually the terms do not appear in the Bible. The trinitarian definitions arose as the result of long controversies in which these terms and others such as ?essence? and ?substance? were erroneously applied to God by some theologians.??(New York, 1965), p. 899.
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Eph 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afire in few words,
Eph 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
After the Jewish high priest made sure that JC was convicted and sentenced they said let the blood of this man be upon us and our children. When you read Jew history in this world there has been a systematic effort wipe them out in darn near every country in this world. Hitler did a good job now Mohammed Alla Akbah wants to finish the job but will end up jacked up like all the others who took their blood.
Romans 11
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
?The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.?
28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God?s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God?s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
Romans 16
25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith? 27 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
1 Corinthians 2
6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God?s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
Ephesians 3
4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God?s holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 1
25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness? 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord?s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 2
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.
Colossians 4
3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.
1 Timothy 3
16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:
He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory.
Luke 13
34 ?Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ?Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.?
Revelation 7
7 ?Look, he is coming with the clouds,?
and ?every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him?;
and all peoples on earth ?will mourn because of him.?
So shall it be! Amen.
