Judaism originated from Abraham's covenant with God (though it was not an organized religion until later). He lived in Mesopotamia. The three "fathers" of Judaism are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Moses is also considered an important figure. It is monotheistic, which means belief in one God. The major text is the Tanakh, which includes the Torah. Other important texts are the Mishnah and the Talmud. There are many rituals and practices, among them the Ten Commandments and a number of holidays, as well as observing the laws of karat.

Just to get you started, of course.
