i have been a Mormon since i have been born and all the time someone is saying lies about us tell me do you people who say those things even know about the church have you even been to one?
People are telling lies because they don't know the Truth...
... it's like Christians calling Paganism, Satanism.
To Avatar: Ehe, maybe to you in your religion, but, it's not. Pagans don't even believe in Satan. Satan isn't real. Neither is Hell. Nor Heaven. Not to me, at least. Please make sure to state what you believe is SEPARATE from what is 100% TRUTH!!! In your head, it may be 100% truth, and to loads of other people, but, until it is scientifically pr oven that your God is the one and only real God, back off.
You'd be surprised how little members of a church know about the official doctrine of their own church. Catholicism is a great example of this. The average worship per doesn't really know what their denomination's official doctrine is.
But, yeah, I hear you, it's irritating. It's best to ignore it. Any doctrinal questions, feel free to email or IM me.
Megami: Any religion that doesn't worship God IS satanism.
Megami: I knew you would say that, and you knew I would say what I said, It's all a matter of perspective.
Some people are just ignorant about other religions. In the bible, people said lies and persecuted Jesus Christ, so can you imagine how they will persecute you for your beliefs. Stay strong in your conviction and don't let lies and ignorance bother you.
I haven't seen any lies. I have studied cults for some time. The Mormons have issues.
I attended with special permission several Mormon church services. I have several Mormon friends. We don't agree
but they help me to learn about what they believe. They even laugh sometimes at what the church teaches to them!
I keep seeing people complaining about other people spreading lies about Mormons. So, why don't you Mormons do something about it instead of ask why? Start telling truths about your religion, or shut up!
I have had this talk with many of my Mormon friends, and they don't get angry. You have many other books and also a Prophet (like the Pope) and the Bible does not allow for this. The Bible is Gods Book and the concept of being a Christian comes from there. The Mormon Church does not follow the Bible. If I list examples, then you will say that I am liennabout you, so I won't. No one is mad at you we just don't agree that you are true Christians as defined by the Bible. If we were to debate this with Bible verses and Mormon doctrine, it would soon become clear. Mormon is Mormon, but not Christian.
It is essential to all religions that they tell lies about other religions. Do you think that what Mormons teach you about Christians, Jews, Muslims, atheists and non-denominational people tell you, is all true?
How about you list some of these supposed "lies". My guess is that alto of them are truths that aren't as com mom practices in the 21st century, but did, if fact play a role in the founding and history of the LDS faith....
From my own experience, many people are afraid of the very idea that there could other scriptures besides the Bible. It really shakes them up, and some will say just about anything to stop other people from looking into it. I have Mormon relatives and I have seen them get attacked (verbally not physically) by Bible believers that just seem desperate to stop such a concept. But don't ask me why.
people who tell lies about anyone are out to make trouble and are under the influence of the devil.they will get there comeuppances soon enough.yours in Jesus Christ peter William lack.
If some of the anti-Mormons had their way, there would be no Mormons. But what would the anti-Mormons do then? Maybe they:
1) Might try to re-convert Europe. Perhaps set up websites for Atheist/Agnostic (re: Protestant) Europe aimed at promoting Christianity to the people living on the "dark continent".
2) There are tons of Atheists in the good 'IL US of A. So maybe set out to counter Atheism.
3) Take on a good social cause like become active in an organization that seeks to educate against abortion or maybe try to organize literacy programs for the poor.
4) Work for political candidates who, if elected, would promote sound moral principles.
5) Combat the evils of modern-day slavery in the world today. Did you know thousands of Christians in southern Sudan are being killed or sold as slaves in that nation by an extremist Islamic government? Also, thousands of Christian women (from Eastern Europe) are being tricked into, and then basically sold, into sexual slavery.
But hey, I suppose the bashes find it more fun to attack Mormons -- maybe they are afraid of taking on the other forces because they can be too mean. Pick on the Mormons and they generally turn the other cheek -- besides the worse you MIGHT get la bled as is a bigot. So maybe these other things aren't so important to attack -- so I guess the anti - Mormons will just have to keep knocking the Church.

Just remember Them Asking questions isn't bashing, now if they are being rude about it that isn't very nice nor is it very christian
now the person below my response... that was bashing so I am going to respond
An even better question is why do Mormons (i.e. Mormon missionaries) lie about Mormonism? If Mormonism is really correct then why do the missionaries lie about the Mormon view of God and godhood? Why is there a bold-faced lie on the official LDS website, Mormon.org which says about God that "He is all-wise and all-powerful?the ruler of the universe."? (link: http://mormon.org/learn/0,8672,807-1,00.html ) All the Mormons on here insist that Mormon.org and lads.org are the ONLY places to get correct information about Mormonism but yet right there on mormon.org is A LIE ABOUT MORMON TEACHING. YOu can't say that God is "all-powerful" and "ruler of the universe" if there are other Gods.
So, there are people who know what mormonism is REALLY about who want to warn others so they're not tricked into joining based on a pack of lies. If LDS missionaries would honestly represent the religion and what it really teaches I bet the number of your detractors would shrink greatly. If your official website wasn't full of the same kinds of lies about what mormonism teaches maybe there wouldn't be so many people who find it necessary to post "anti-mormon" websites just to get the truth out.
The facts are simple. The mormon view of God as a being 1) With a beginning, 2) With equals in power and being, 3) Who was once a mere man himself, and 4) Which man can one day become, is not a view shared by most potential converts. But rather than be honest about the mormon view of God and convert those who have no problem with such a view, your organization lies in an attempt to try to gain conversion of people who would not join knowing the truth.
Try spreading the truth about your religion and, wrong as others may think you are, I bet you'll find a lot less people feel obliged to speak out against you. Or, keep lying, and you'll continue to find that those who know the truth will almost always find it necessary to speak up.
Well, I'm a Mormon, and I think a lot of people do it for a couple of reasons.
1. They are misinformed, so they aren't really meaning to give false information, they just know what they have seen and heard from others, and have drawn their own conclusions.
2. They know a little (but not everything) about what we believe, and they think we're crazy.
