Default Best Thing About Being Mormon?

Please! Only LDS members(Mormon) answer.
I think by far the best thing is knowing the truth and where I came from and where I'm going.
Wow, did you guys (as in other Mormons) know that we worship Joseph Smith as a god. Because I sure as heck didn't know!!!

I ex-communicated myself. My sister, however, insisted on doing all the family sealing against my wishes.

Well, first of all, I'm not Mormon. I would say though, there isn't anything special about being a Mormon. You follow a man, Joseph Smith, whom, isn't God. Nice to know you worship God, Ha, really you are worshiping a man whom wasn't a prophet of God, let alone one that can NEVER measure up. I'm so sad that you people worship a man, one not even of his word.
-There shall be no other before me.-
Wow, you follow commandments well don't you?

My favorite thing about Mormons is that the guys always look so sexy in their little "I'm coming door to door to covert you" button down shirts and ties.

Man you've totally got me thinking about Steve Sandvoss in "Latter Days"... MM lick able... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0345551/

THATS A TOUGH ONE!

How do I answer this without offending anyone? For me personally, the LDS gospel gives me something that nothing else has been able to. I spent 10 years of my life searching in drugs, Algol, sex, crime, I studied other religions, yet nothing I did would get rid of of an emptiness I felt inside me.

I actually found God before I found Relidion (I was a big skeptic-I said many of the things about Religion and specifically Christianity you read on this site - no dis intended to anyone - I think people are entitled to believe what they want), you could call it something of an Alma the younger experience, or Saul (Paul). I gave up my addictions and vices (with His help), and turned to God, and he led me to the LDS faith, in a very direct and precise way (no one converted me), so there was no confusion or doubt in my mind, which was confirmed to me later.

Now my faith in God is strengthened by the doctrine I learn. I would be back where I was before (because it is so easy to forget) if it were not for the restored gospel. Because of the restored doctrine, you can come to know Christ personally and intimately on a level I dint believe one can find anywhere else (generally speaking that is, I know there are individuals out there who have come to know Christ on a similar level, I'm not saying you have to be Mormon). Its funny though, I know it as sure as I am alive, its in every fiber of my body, but coming to God its something you just gotta figure out yourself, and with the help of His spirit. I never thought I would be where I am today, I should be dead. I am grateful for the grace and mercy of God, which is available to all, not just Mormons. sorry so long, you probably we rent looking for a testimony, you ll get plenty of that in a couple of weeks.

*****P. S. Its quite funny to hear the things people say about Mormons, they act like they KNOW what they preach, be live, live, etc, and they probably (again, speaking generally) have never read the Book of Mormon (Ya I know, they say they dont need to, which is beyond me, if your going to make a claim against something, you must first understand it, thats common knowledge) or even picked up one peice of Literature written by an LDS author or (if they have, generally speaking) it was written by an apostate, meaning it is totally biased. Its also funny cause it usually takes an individual years to completely understand their own religion (even a lifetime), how long did it take malcom X to understand and embrace the Muslim faith, or Ghandi he studied his religion his entire life, and still was discovering new truths, and then you get someone who watched South Park, or read some newspaper article, or biased internet site, and think they know everything there is to being a mormon. They do the same thing with other religions too, and then they think they now have the right to tear someones faith down, if you ask me nothing gives anyone the right to tear down anyones faith, but it is a free country, and thats how it is, its still a shame though.*****

The best thing about being a Mormon is that you can change your doctrine when it doesn't fit. If the Mormon church had to com form to the Bible, it would change the whole church.

no I'm just kidding, I think the best part of it is not really having any questions about the bible it just makes so much sense now, I got tired of my pastor telling me that somethings where just not meant for our understanding!

I am a Mormon and I think there are many great things about being a Mormon. We have the fullness of the gospel. We have the power of the Priesthood which can make miracles happen. We have the Book of Mormon which is more correct than any other book and has the wonderful power to change the lives of those who read it. In our wards and branches we are like a big family and when someone needs help there is always members there to do whatever needs to be done. We try to teach each other with the belief that everyone has something important that they can contribute. The list could go on forever. If I had to choose the best thing about being Mormon, I would say it is having the Book of Mormon. That is what brought me to the church and helped me to have the great life I have today.

The most comforting thing is knowing that we will be with our family members forever. This is especially great comfort when a young child dies.

I think the greatest thing is the gift of the Holy Ghost after baptism to help us to choose the right throughout the rest of our lives and lead us back to our Heavenly Father!

The best thing is that as much as everyone claims brainwashing in the church exists - the real truth is that the opposite is necessary in the true church of Christ, we each need our own testimony in the end, and each of us gets it a different way!

No one forces non-members to get baptized, and no one should get baptized, unless they know for themselves of the goodness of Christ and his teachings of salvation and have claimed them as their Savior. In fact, this is what baptismal interviews prior to baptism are about - to make sure the person will serve Christ!

The thing is that anyone can believe whatever they want (the great moral agency given to all men), but in the end, only the truth matters, and truth is confirmed by the Holy Ghost after searching and prayer. Then you will know the truth without a doubt!
