Uhhh... Joseph Smith was the 19Th century L. Ron Hubbard, and Ellen White was on "Golden Girls"?

I think she had a vision about Saturday being the correct day to worship, and if you do not worship on Saturday then you have the mark of the anti-Christ or beast. I disagree with that doctrine. We are saved by grace not works.

I believe Ellen White claimed to be the Messiah and Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and was called by them to be a prophet and restore the true church of Christ and restore His priesthood and authority to the earth because it had been taken from the earth through an apostasy.

I am Seventh Day Adventist. I worship on Saturday because I believe that is the correct day to worship. I don't think your going to hell is you don't or you're working for the devil or any of that. You can't take what Ellen White says and place it on all Seventh Day Adventists because alto of us disagree with her. Me for one. And also, we don't follow her or try to place her as God. She was supposedly a lesser light to help lead to the Greater light. She was not commanding what you should do but giving you suggestions. It doesn't really matter if you follow her or not because in the end the Bible is what you should follow and not a person. And please don't try to condemn me because or my faith or how you feel about Ellen White because I don't follow her and I don't really believe/care about her. I worship on Saturday and I don't believe I should be condemned. I believe in God. that's all that should matter.

I see so many questions aimed at trying to discredit other religions. I am not a Seventh Day Aventist but they are no different than other religions. There teachings are incorrect but at least they do not kill people or support witch hunts like the many main stream religions did. I am sure you must have read about the Inquisitions and the protestant witch hunts. You do not see that type of behavior in any of the religions that are looked down on such as the Seventh Day Adventists or the Mormons. None of these so called "cult" religions have such a bloody history as the Catholic church. Their leaders would roast people on a spit or burn them at the stake for even having a bible. During the American colony days, Protestants went on witch hunts and put innocent people on stretching racks or dunked them in water and tortured them until they admitted to being witches. These very same religions are the first to cry "cult" whenever a religion is different than theirs. The true religion has no "name". It is a way of obeying God and adhering to his requirements. It is the religion that has correct understanding of the scriptures and it is not dictated by man's false doctrines. It does not seek to do harm to their neighbors. It proclaims God's Heavenly Kingdom as the only answer to man kinds problems.
It does so peaceably and by reasoning from the scriptures. Not forcing anyone but encouraging people to look at the scriptures themselves.

she was a woman who had vi sons from god. what differentiates her from JS is that nearly all her visions, books and words were based from the bible alone. she brought nothing new but reminded us of what we had forgotten.

The difference between Joseph Smith and Ellen White besides the obvious ones...Joseph Smith wrote his own holy book and told everyone it was better than the Holy Bible. Ellen White wrote many books but never said the Holy Bible was inferior...in fact she fully supported the teachings of Christ and the Holy Bible. Ellen White was a humble follower who was used by the Holy Spirit to help us better understand how to take care of our physical, and spiritual health. Joseph Smith, not being fully understanding of the Holy Bible, because of the lack of his own learning, decided to start his own mode of income by creating a completely new religion based on his interpretation of the Holy Bible...and according to some, the 'borrowed' novel of another man. The story of his revelation regarding the book of Mormon is so non-biblical and defies the words of Galatians 1:6-11 in which Paul warns us to avoid a gospel which is new and different from what has already been established. That being said...there are a whole bunch of churches out there which teach similar new and different things which are not supported by the Word of God. Ellen White always supported her work with the Word of God....
If I were to write a novel and swear to it's authenticity; get some other people to agree, then I could be the next 'new' religion.
Joseph Smith's religion said, "Follow me because I am a prophet". Ellen White's teachings said, "Follow God."
Indeed, like Feralchild answered...Joseph Smith was the L Ron Hubbard of the 19Th Century...but Ellen White was not on the Golden Girls...that was Betty White.
