Isn't there a Biblical verse about the blind leading the blind? Both religions seem fixated on Revelations, so maybe it's in there someplace...

Wow, going in for the kill. That's great. The problem is that the JW's are just as arrogant as Mormons when it comes to their beliefs, and they probably won't even hear your propaganda.

Think about it how when someone tries to tell you the faults of Mormonism.. And you completely reject it or laugh it off as some "anti-Mormon" rhetoric. You're going to deal with the same thing with them.

Sounds like you may be preparing for a bashing. Just be careful and speak with the spirit. Do not let Satan cause the meeting to turn into a fight. I don't think knowing more about the religion will help because you ain't there to teach them JW you are there to teach them the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is thought by Latter-Day Saints.

Don't try to run their religion down! Just show them how the Church of Jesus Christ L.D.S. is the true church. Let them do the asking about the differences and teach correct principles. They may ask about the difference of going to war be prepared for that question as they do not believe in that. They also only believe 144000 will make it to heaven so I would try teaching correct principles there too, with the three degrees of glory. Just let the spirit guide you and you will do fine.

How about this.. They deny that Jesus is the Great I AM the God of all creation. They deny that the Bible is trustworthy believing to call Jesus a lire when He told the Pharisees that He is the I AM God that gave the Law to Moses.
John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.
They believe that Jesus is a mere creation of God.. Woops you can't use that you believe that same lie.... Well. Good luck.. Jim

You're leaving your research a bit late, don't you think? Also, I should warn you that although you may think you are going to teach Mormonism to a Jehovah's Witness, the Jehovah's Witness is absolutely, categorically, emphatically going to be trying to teach JW doctrine to you! Be prepared for that.

No way is any JW going to believe what Mormons say about Jesus Christs' Prue and post-human existence, namely that Elohim's firstborn was Jehovah, who is also Christ. Neither are they going to countenance the idea that Elohim had sex with Mary in order for Jesus to be conceived as a man.

Another area of contention is the Trinity: "I have always declared God to be a distinct personage, Jesus Christ separate and distinct from God the Father, and the Holy Ghost a distinct personage and spirit; and these three constitute three distinct personages and three gods." (From Joseph Smith's sermon on "The Christian Godhead - Plurality of Gods" on June 16, 1844.) JW's absolutely abhor the Trinity concept and claim it is polytheism. Be aware that they believe the Holy Ghost is an "it", a mere force (like electricity), not a person. Oh, and also be aware that the Mormon concept of the trinity is not the same as the Westminster Confession of Faith or the Athanasian or Nicean Creed. Frankly, I'd avoid this subject at all costs, because neither Mormons nor JW's understand the tribune nature of the Godhead.

The other difference between Mormons and JW's is their understanding of what happens after we die. For one thing, JW's do not believe we have an immortal soul, nor do they accept there is a place called hell. To them, that is simply the grave, and when you die, you know nothing at all. Only 144,000 are going to ascend to heaven and the rest hope to live forever on a paradise earth.

JW's think the second coming of Christ happened invisibly in 1914 and that Armageddon is iminent (and has been for over 100 years now, but they keep getting the dates wrong). They also believe that you have to earn salvation by being obedient to the organisation and spreading the good news from door to door (not unlike Mormon missionaries). They also believe in water baptism (full immersion) so you will agree there, although they draw the line at baptism for the dead. Don't bring that up.

Will that be sufficient for now? Please email me if you think I can be of any further help.
