Default Mormons, if every member is a missionary, then would that make every ex-Mormon a retu

We all know that being a RM is like being royalty. I want to be a returned missionary but I don't really want to go on a mission (at the moment). If I leave the church, then would I finally be a returned missionary?

We'll "return missionary" later; for now, why not roll over for awhile.

No...but you'll be a lot saner and reasonable. Probably happier, too.

Peace.

(ex-Mormon and actual returned missionary)

You have to go on a mission and then come back in order to be a return missionary, it is that simple.

We "all know" that being an RM is like being royalty? Not so much. Most of us know better.

I'm not trying to be offensive, but I had mission companions who, like you, wanted to say they'd gone on a mission but didn't want to put in the effort required. They spent their time trying to get out of work, complaining about what little they did, and generally making everyone around them unhappy. When they returned home, they continued being lazy and negative, failing in their callings, not putting enough effort into their careers or educations or relationships...far from being treated like royalty, that kind of person is never respected by anyone.

If you want to go on a mission, go for the right reasons or don't go at all. There is a difference, after all, between a missionary intent on serving God and a tourist with a name tag who just stayed too long and couldn't go swimming.

I'm sure I've wasted my time, as this is a troll-type question, but if you actually are Mormon, you might want to consider doing what it takes to actually build a testimony or just walking away. There's no point if this is your attitude.

You wouldn't have returned from anything because you left! If you want to be honored as a missionary then you need to actually earn it!

No deposit, no return. I know.

If they made all Mormons missionaries, no one would want to take two years and all their savings and blow it for basically nothing.

Mormons come in all shapes and sizes. I think that you should go on a Mission. If you do, I think you will bless many peoples lives.

That is something that nobody can take away from you.

Some people are good with some people, other people are good with communicating with other people. There are some people who you would communicate with who would never be able to realize the truth, unless it was you that communicated it to them.

In answer to your question, every member should be a Missionary, many are not. The only way to be a true Missionary of Jesus Christ is to live the commandments of Jesus Christ. Then a person is a Missionary of Jesus Christ whether they go on a Formal Mission or not.

So therefor, a Mormon who is now an ex-Mormon is an ex-Missionary, assuming that that person once lived the commandments of Jesus Christ at any time in their LDS past.

A good way to improve in the gospel, is to become a Missionary.

Sometimes it is the people who are reluctant to go on an LDS Mission, that are the ones that have the biggest impact on peoples lives. I think in your heart of hearts, you know I am right.

No, it would make them all ex-missionaries. Nice try, though.
