Is Muhammad's handling of Scripture in the 7th century much like that of Mormon leade
(Brigham Young) in the 19Th century??
Architec..: But Muhammad was able to hear..was he? He clearly borrowed parts of the Bible he liked, but his knowledge of the Bible was poor and that is why he thinks he is the Holy Spirit ( Comforter ) promised in the Bible and he turned Jesus into a prophet...I view Islam as Medieval Mormonism.
You need to remember that the Bible is ancient book and Qur'an is much later in Medieval time
The similarities between the two are interesting to note ("prophets" who don't prophecy, less educated men coming up with scriptures they wouldn't be expected to write on their own with the help of "angels", problems with the divinity of Jesus...) I have my own theory on this, but the Mormons were our allies in the prop 8 fight and I don't want to go out of my way to offend them.
Who are these people, Joseph smith and Young? Did Joseph smith brought the world under his feet more than a millennium like Prophet Muhammad and Islamic ideology. Does Young have 1.5 billion followers like Prophet Muhammad? Were they prophesied by earlier prophets /scriptures that the descendants of Ishmael will become a blessed great nation?
Do you mean they were alike in the source of their "inspiration"? Yes, I would agree.
Unlike the Jewish and Christian scriptures, which also documented history as God dealt with the nation of Israel, and was written over a period of 1600 years, both the Koran and the Book of Mormon are "one source" documents, created over a short period of time.
One from someone who said that God forced him to remember to have someone else write it down, the other, a so-called angel brings magic golden plates that Smith had to "translate" by "divine" guidance.
Yes, the material was received in a very similar situation.
one thing to know 1st of all that prophet Mohammad pub could not read and write and to believe that he copied Qumran from any other religion is totally wrong . it may be possible that Qumran matches with some part of bible or other book .but you should know that bible contains big scientific errors like earth created before sun and there are numerous simple addition errors in bible why did not prophet copied that was he a professor of astronomy no prophet was um mi an illiterate which is proudly mentioned in Qumran by GOD .
you can not prove a single verse of Qumran scientifically wrong
Qumran speaks about big bang .when did you came to know about it
Qumran speaks about water cycle
so Qumran is not copied but is the word of GOD . FOR MORE INFO WATCH DR. ZAKIR VS WILLIAM CAMPBELL onthe same topic you have asked it will surely help you and is quran the GODS WORD THANKS FOR THE QUESTION
To Abu Salma: 2008 Deseret News Church Almanac lists USA total as 5,779,316, world total 12,868,606. Most of those outside of the USA are in Latin American countries.
This just proves that numbers mean nothing. If Mormonism is false (and it is) then all religions are false. There is absolutely no proof that any of them have any true basis. Age of following and number of followers do not give any of them any credit.
Both books, the Koran and the Book of Mormon have written in the front that they are the best book ever written.
So they both have a spirit that visited them and chose to believe that spirit above the already written Word of God.
It is written in Galatians1:6+ 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him who called you into the grace of Christ unto another Gospel:
(So a different Gospel than the Gospel of Grace. Salvation by Grace of God through faith...)
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the Gospel of Christ.
(The Gospel of Christ is the Gospel of Grace. We are saved by the Grace of God through faith. Not of works lest anyone boast or get proud.)
8 But though we or an angel from heaven (like Moron-I or a false Angel Gabriel), preach any other gospel unto you than that what we have preached unto you, let him be accursed (separate from Gods Spirit).
9 As we said before, so say I now again., If anyone preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (anathema).
So test the Spirits to see if they are from the Lord. Do they deny the Power of the Cross. Do they deny Salvation (Eternal Life) by the Grace of God. Do they deny the Father & the Son. Do they deny that Jesus Christ has come and has died on the Cross for our sins and has raised from the dead for our Justification. Do they deny that Jesus is the Word of God in the beginning, who was with God and is God with God according to John1:1. And do they say Jesus is just a first born Angel or a first born Son of God or just a Prophet who had a message from God.
This is tricky. Because Jesus was the Word of God in the beginning, and not the Son of God. The Winged Cherebims are the Sons of God in the beginning, when they were first created.
Jesus is the Word of God with God and is the first of all Creation. Meaning that God is First, before God created everything. God first created the Sons of God (Morning Stars).
God (Elohim) the Father, Word & Holy Spirit is One Creator God.
If you study the Bible and realize that the Holy Bible is the oldest book and it hasn't been changed in meaning from the original, or from the earliest copies of the original that we do have. And that we are finding through archeology, etc.
Rick G has a very interesting thought: Unlike the Jewish and Christian scriptures, which also documented history as God dealt with the nation of Israel, and was written over a period of 1600 years, both the Koran and the Book of Mormon are "one source" documents, created over a short period of time.
That is interesting. Because the inspiration for those books in the Holy Bible were written by different Holy men when moved by the Holy Spirit.
While the book of Mormon & Koran are by one person as directed by one angel. But penned by others.
That just confirms to me that the Holy Bible is much more reliable. Especially since all the Bible books fit together. And the other books (Koran & Book of Mormon) conflict with the Gospel of Grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
