Joseph Smith is the last true prophet according to LDS ?
Joseph Smith founded the Mormon Church as the one true church because he believed all other churches were corrupt. In his mind, there was no true church except for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Islam says that about Muhammad ?!?
So which one is it?
Bahama. now fight between Muhammad and Joseph Smith.
The concept of prophet is just bull shit. Instead of saying prophet you can call them as social reformer if you respect them.
You are insulting Joseph Smith by comparing him with Muhammad.
the LDS believe that God continues to communicate with His children Thur prophets even today. there is a living prophet on the earth yesterday, today, tomorrow... and the LDS believe that ALL hold pieces of the truth (which is different than the 'everybody is wrong' idea you present). I just read this article on how the LDS feel about Mohammad....http://www.fairlds.org/pubs/muslim.pdf
Uh, no. I dunno about Mohammed, but Joseph Smith restored what Mormons believe to be the primitive church, as organized by Christ himself, with twelve apostles and the true priesthood.
There have been many Latter Day Saint prophets since then. The latest prophet's name is Thomas S Monson.
I think every church whether it's Catholic, Muslim, etc....thinks they are the one true church but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church that has the restored gospel as Jesus organized it. Therefore we Mormon's do believe that we have the full gospel. Also Joseph Smith was not the last true Prophet in our Church. Our current Prophet is Thomas Monson. We believe that God will not leave us without a Prophet again.
To your first question: Joseph Smith is NOT the last true prophet. The LDS believe in continued revelation and we have had a prophet from Joseph Smith who RESTORED the church clear up until today (Thomas Monson).

It is true that we claim to have truth (doesn't most everyone?) but we are also very aware that all religions hold some truth and bless the lives of those in them. We respect other faiths and after 9/11 while many were preaching against other religions ours was speaking of love, tolerance, and remembering the One God we all worship.
LDS are Christian (not like Islam) and we believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior and we follow the organization he laid out for his Church so long ago (hence restoration).
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the foulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Joseph is indeed NOT the last true prophet for all eternity. God will not allow a faithful people to go without hearing His voice. So if there is a faithful people they have a prophet, a living prophet who give the people the commandments of God. And a prophet is never popular.
At the moment President Monson is our prophet.

No, Joseph Smith was just the first in a linear and uninterrupted line of Modern day prophets. That is the Essenes of the Church. That since the Restoration of the Gospel, we have living prophets on Earth. Jeez, do some research.
I am not sure if this a veiled attack on Mormons or Muslims.
I am not sure what the point is of attacking people with a pseudo-questions. Please take a little bit of time to get to know some Mormons and some Muslims.
People of faith respect other people of faith. You know what I mean? People who are say Lutherans, enjoy talking with Muslims, or Mormons or Catholics, you know to grow in there faith, by exploring it.
Real people of faith (regardless of the name of the faith) don't tend to attack others but enjoy the process of dialog.
Jumping in with an attack makes you perhaps an atheist or something. Trying to attack faith in general.
If you really wanted an answer to a question about the faith of Mormons or Muslims, you could just ask it.
"foundation a church"-does the qualification of a true prophet according to you?
then i have a house, i wanna make it church for u.will you believe me as a true prophet?
for you i want to give some homework, will you do it?
please read some book of Eadith(please read from hard copy/actual version of Eadith not Internet copy)...
then prepare yourself what is the quality needed to be a prophet...
then you will never ask that questions...
listen
without Eadith you couldn't understand Quran
without Quran ,Eadith didn't explain anything..
its the explanation of Quran.......
one last thing i will say
"true Muslims will believe whatever is said in Quran,QURAN IS THE WORD OF ALLAH,NOT MUHAMMAD,BECAUSE MUHAMMAD DID NOT KNOW HOW TO READ UNTIL THE HELP OF ALLAH "
No, he was not the last prophet. We have one today--his name is Thomas S. Monson. When he dies, we will have another prophet.
I'm LDS, so I obviously believe Monson is a real prophet. I do not believe that Muhammad was ever one. Still, if you truly want to know, shouldn't you take the question to God?
