Default ORMONS: Was Joseph Smith faithful to his marriage vow with Emma?

If not, why do you follow him as a man of integrity, and as one to be trusted in all other things? I see that LDS author who made millions on his books of successful living, has now written a book on TRUST. Stephen R. Covey cheated on his wife, even as he made millions teaching integrity...please explain how Mormons are able to tap dance so well.

JS did what God had asked of him - so yea.

LDS (aka Mormons) are just like real people - go figure....they make mistakes just lie anybody else, and they rationalize just like anybody else.

edit: @Man..... read the question again - I am not making ANY excuses for JS - he doesn't need them - I am saying that in the cases mentioned (IE: Covey) I don't know the facts but I do know that they are people who happen to be LDS, and as such are prone to human mistakes etc. nice try though - really.

He had a well documented affair with Fanny Alger years before he came up with the polygamy justification.

frog just stated that God told Joseph Smith to do it while excusing his actions as a "human mistake". Huh? Just think about that.

The excuses and justifications Mormons use to explain Joseph Smith's contradictory life are always as twisted and, allow me to say, hilarious.

The only people claiming he wasn't faithful are anti Mormon Christian writers using out of date information. Secular scholars don't claim he cheated on his wife or practiced polygamy since there is no evidence. But there is plenty of evidence he believed polygamy was OK.

Yes he was faithful to his marriage vow with Emma. In the Bible, David was given wives by God. The only one he was unfaithful with (and therefore condemned for) was Bathsheba. I trust Joseph Smith implicitly. I am so grateful for his life and mission and all he taught about Jesus Christ.
