a wacko religion based on the hallucinating Joseph Smith. This "religion" claims Christ is a white man who lived in America, Native Americans are evil. They also baptize anyone that has died into the Mormon religion. Just another sad and confused group.

Be careful, better look for Jesus and read the Bible. Then, if you are curious ..... check those fake doctrines and scriptures.

Mormon was a prophet from the book of Mormon that sealed up the plates about 320 a.d. He finished the writings and in the year 1820 he appeared to the prophet Joseph Smith to deliver the plates to begin the restoration of Christs church on the earth. That is where "Mormonism" began. "Mormonism" is officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a church based on our savior Jesus Christ. We believe that he taught us the way to salvation and died for our sins so we can receive salvation. We believe that he continues to lead his church through revelation through prophets. To learn more about Mormonism our beliefs are on this site:

Mormon was a prophet who lived circa 400 AD in the Americas. He was descended from the tribe of Joseph. He wrote or compiled a book much like our Bible, that was a compendium or condensation of other selected books available to him. His son Moroni finished the work after his death and prepared a stone box, where he secreted the book prior to his own death. Moroni then appeared to Joseph Smith, Jr., in 1827 as an angel and showed him in vision the location of the stone box. After it was retrieved, the book was translated and published as The Book of Mormon.

The modern Christian churches have not appreciated this threat to their domain, and have responded vigorously, attacking Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was eventually murdered in cold blood by a large mob of men painted to look like Indians, while in custody at Carthage jail on trumped up charges.

Your first two responders obviously know little to nothing about the truth of Mormonism. To resort to something as absurd as South Park gives you some insight as to the first respondent's mentality. Unlike your second responder, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not resort to calling other religions wacko or otherwise insult them. We believe in allowing others to worship how, where, or what they may - and we claim the same privilege for ourselves.

We are taught and believe in following the admonition of the Savior (Jesus Christ) to love one another and to treat others as we would be treated. As mentioned by 'Adam' and 'Rosskopf' - Mormon was a great prophet who loved God and proclaimed the truth. Because of the Book of Mormon (as explained) members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were nicknamed by antagonists as "Mormons." We even use the term ourselves for brevity of terms, but Latter-day Saint or LDS is preferred.

We believe in the same organization that existed in the church that Jesus Christ organized while in his mortal ministry. We claim that Christ's church has been restored in it's fullness and exists today with living Apostles and Prophets and the same teachings and ordinances that existed in the primitive church.

Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They're called Mormons because they believe that God gave additional scripture in a book called The Book of Mormon.

They claim to be Christians but be careful in that claim. They won't pray to Jesus, they admit that Jesus was once not a God but is now, God the Father is an exalted man, they discount the Bible as flawed and consider their leaders as mouthpieces for God.
