If you want to wear underwear that looks like this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_XJHB6bRQ4Cg/ST9n6ixPTWI/AAAAAAAAANE/Kry-Pm-Khyo/s400/Garment.jpg , give away ten percent of your income for the rest of your life (calculated on your gross, not net income), avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, avoid premarital sex, spend three hours every Sunday at church, believe Native Americans are lost Israelites even though DNA evidence says otherwise, and go through bizarre, secretive temple rituals in order to attain the highest level of Heaven, this could be the religion for you. DO NOT DO IT...............no one following the teaching of the deceptions of Mormonism will be found in Heaven...... I studied with them years ago... almost joined up... lived and worked around them all my life... my father converted that is why they were trying hard to convert me also..... I came very close to making a BIG mistake and found out about their deceptions and escaped that fate..... it took me another 30 years to come to know The Truth of God.....There is ONLY One Way to God... and Mormonism ain't it.............. DON"T DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I invite you to visit my site at: http://www.mikesfaith.com

Research it carefully before you make any decisions.
There are several former Mormons who have posted websites that discuss all the problems with the Mormon belief system.
If you are a Christian, you should be aware that their doctrines are completely different from mainstream Christianity. Just because they use the name of Christ, does not mean they are truly following Christ's teachings.
Also, keep in mind that Joseph Smith was a con man, and "Bring'em Young" was even worse.
Don't forget that Jesus warned against false prophets.
If you have any further doubts, research the amazing similarities between Joseph Young and Muhammed. Very interesting parallels -- both "false prophets."

Despite what others may say, the most basic belief of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints is that only through Christ can we obtain eternal glory and only through his Atonement can we be saved.

lads.org is the best place to go to get answers.

I know the Church of Jesus Christ L.D.S. to be the true church on earth today. I prayed about it and have a sure witness from the Holy Ghost it is true. I joined almost 6 years ago now. Now for the basic beliefs try looking up the Articles of Faith. Then for a better or more complete understanding and to have any questions you have it would be best to visit with the missionary's.

Mormonism is a false cult of Joseph Smith whom promoted the idea that God had revealed something to him.The revaluation supersedes and contradicts all previous Christine doctrine.Smith justified and reinterpreted the bible out of context to suit his peculiar doctrines for the cult.He considered himself to be a unique messenger of God that had access to the almighty. This is not a Christian religion but a cult created by a con man.

What I don't understand is how Mormonism draws such strong negative feelings. I lived in Utah for a while and found them to be rather pleasant people. If you are wanting to join a church I would go to that church and see how the people act. If you like it why not? Do you really think as some have said that you will be damned because of that? Doesn't sound like a kind and loving god would do that to someone.

Meh.... don't listen to the naysayers.

There are a lot of people who hear the word Mormon and seriously take a "run for the hills" approach. Seriously, just go to one meeting and see if it works for you. That's free will for you. Check out http://www.mormon.org. For more info.

And to leave some quick points:

We do believe in Christ, We do believe that redemption come through and only comes through Him.

People who claim we only believe in works seriously don't understand the scriptures or pick and choose bits that support their beliefs. The Savior, said to let our light shine. Can't seriously do that without doing good to others.

People who say it's a cult and give other false information have either been misinformed or have some kind of issue with our church.

We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and pattern our lives and actions after his life. We also believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be testaments of Jesus Christ. Our main goal is to come unto Christ and help others do the same.

It is a great religion in which to raise a family, since we believe that families are central to God's plan and that we can be with our families for eternity.

I think you should talk to the missionaries and learn about the beliefs, read the Book of Mormon, and ask God if you should join.

http://mormon.org is the best website to learn about basic beliefs. http://lds.org is another good website that talks about what Mormons really believe.

I love it. . .my religion is what holds me together during these rough times. I have learned to trust God, be grateful, have faith, and endure bad situations. I have been strengthened to cope with loss, abuse, and discouragement and look forward with hope.

I am a pretty skeptical and hard person--I don't think that any other religion would have done this for me.

But you should see for yourself. Ask the missionaries over and hear what they have to say. You might be surprised at how you find it makes a lot of sense.
